Completing Zoo Tycoon 2: How far we've come?

Going through all of them and my opinions:

Would like to see:
American black bear
Blackbuck
Addax
Sulcata tortoise
Caracal
Maned wolf
Gelada
Honey badger
Nile crocodile
Rockhopper penguin
Secretary bird
Spectacled bear
Striped hyena
Black rhinoceros
Dromedary
Markhor
Sea otter
Wolverine

Ambivalent:
Bighorn sheep
Northern elephant seal
Japanese serow
Olive baboon
Barbary macaque
Crested gibbon
Gerenuk
Masai giraffe
Musk ox
Common wildebeest
Walrus

Would not like to see:
Iberian lynx (redundant even with the conservation value)
Leatherback sea turtle (no captive presence other than temporary rescues, fully aquatic except to lay eggs)
Emperor penguin (very little captive presence, would prefer gentoo/Adelie/rockhopper first for Antarctic penguins)
Green sea turtle (fully aquatic except to lay eggs)
Javan rhino (no captive presence)

Out of the zt animals I’d like to see the Secretary bird, black rhino, dromedary, and the walrus. Everything else for me is either fine or is replaceable. A good example is the gelada it’s a amazing animal for sure but I’d be even happier with a Hamadryas baboon. The walrus due to not being commonly kept in zoos and not really compatible with zoos will unfortunately probably not get in. I love the wolverine but these guys are not meant for captivity and don’t really do to good. Our local zoo had one for a year and the little guy looked miserable. Wolverines are always on the go and captivity really hinders them. They have been replaced with bobcat and Canadian lynx which seem to fare much better.

I would like to get the musk ox, gerenuk, common wildebeest and the primates. I 100% agree with the not interested list and with the want list.

Zoo Tycoon had Humpback whales

Okay, I'll remove the substitutes list. Although, it's worth noting that many animals, especially in ZT1, were not realistic choices for zoo animals, and Frontier did choose similar but realistic animals in most cases.

Like the Indian Rhino over the Javan Rhino, where there are barely any Javan rhinos in zoos.
You don't have to remove it, it's your list, I was just sharing my thoughts on the matter.

There are no Javan rhinos in zoos at all. Historically they have done very poorly in captivity. That said I have heard a few people say they want them for the game (I don't, if we get another rhino, for me it's got to be the Sumatran, far more interesting and it actually has been successful in captivity until recently). I think you're probably right, though, that Frontier went with the more realistic option in may cases.

There are plenty of 'substitutes' that I still want, too. The barbary macaque can hardly be called a reasonabl substitute of the Japanese macaque, for example; completely different animal that doesn't even look that similar.

I'd love the Barbary Macaque, but I think they are somewhat similar in function to the Japanese macaque. Both qre mountain dwelling, mostly terrestrial Macaques. There aren't many mountain primates, and definitely not macaques. Maybe as part of a mountain pack?

A couple of errors on your list here...
  • The Wolverine only appears in ZT2... not ZT1.
  • ZT1 also featured the Mexican Wolf (Canis lupus baileyi).
  • The specific Gorilla that appears in ZT1 is apparently the Eastern Lowland Gorilla (Gorilla beringei graueri).
  • The specific Sea Otter that appears in ZT1 is apparently the Southern Sea Otter (Enhydra lutris nereis).
  • Probably worth mentioning that ZT2 featured the Florida Panther and Giant Sable Antelope subspecies as oppose to a generic Cougar and Sable Antelope like ZT1 and PZ have.
  • ZT2 lacked a normal Leopard, only featuring a "Black Leopard" instead... the Black Leopard also appeared as a separate animal in ZT1.
Probably also worth mentioning...
  • ZTDS also featured the Kouprey and the Onager...

Going through all of them and my opinions:

Would like to see:
Maned wolf
You mean Ethiopian Wolf... right? No ZT game featured the Maned Wolf...

Thanks! I'll fix it. What's ZTDS?
