Introducing the Cockpit Paint Mod (CPM)

"All flight CMDRs, go / no go for launch"

"RETRO" – GO!

"FIDO" – GO!

"GUIDANCE" – Go!

"PAINT" Paint?? GOOOOO!!! 🚀🚀🚀

=================================================

Hi CMDRs,

The CPM prototype for the Anaconda is ready!

You can download the files from the EDHM GitHub, and I recommend reading the manuals, or at least the CPM Quick Start Guide

Since this is a prototype / alpha test, I'd greatly appreciate your feedback on the CPM - what works, what doesn't, what else could be added, that sort of thing

Just a reminder the UI is developed by a very clever coder Blue Mystic, and since he doesn't visit the Elite forums it's best to give him suggestions or feedback on the UI via the EDHM Discord or his GitHub, thank you

Well it's finally here, and I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of awesome cockpits you create!

I like it. I like it a lot. Here's my Conda colored up to match my sort of Tron Legacy theme.

Anyone getting an error when trying to export (save) your Theme?

I've tried it with and without adding a thumbnail (200x61 jpeg, same size & format as the one you get when you mouse over the thumbnail and follow the instructions).

Also tried changing the theme name, author name and description, but to no avail....

Feedback (I know it's still testing):

- Following the instructions on the PDF Quick Start, it will say it imports successfully (EDHM must be run as Admin - :\) but shows nothing in the 3DPlugins window other than the default key bindings window:

The Themes window on the main page of EDHM does not show it as a theme to apply, even after restarting EDHM (It should be just above the Crimson one near the bottom of the screenshot). Note the theme count does not change (this is a fresh install - never used EDHM until today). If you import from this screen, you will get an error so be sure to follow the correct import (See next screenshot below - Yes, I did this intentionally - you wanted testing, right? :D ):

You dont use the main section of EDHM HUD Mod at all for the Paint Mod.

Try following the Quick Start Guide again, you need to "add" the Anaconda at the start, then can import/export themes all through the CPM Plug In section. It's all separate from the HUD Mod.

Open EDHM, go to the Main Menu... click 3PMods.... now you need to "add" the Anaconda to the mod by clicking the blue import button and navigating to the CPM-v2.04-Prototype.zip that you have to download from here : https://github.com/psychicEgg/EDHM/tree/main/Odyssey/3rdPartyMods/CockpitPaintMod

I didn't bother exporting since I knew this was just a test run that's probably going to change anyway.

Did you miss the part where I did exactly that? Did you really read anything I posted? I outlined it in my post, hence the screenshots of the other things I tried aside from the obvious instructions - which I did first. The others were simply just testing and showing what would happen if you didn't and as most people - just jump right in (again, read my notations in parentheses).

Would you like me to make a PowerPoint, or perhaps a video sample showing how I am following those exact instructions and it doesn't appear for me?
Wow.... I am only trying to help.

I did read exactly what you posted, you have made a mistake at the start of the installation.

Bye.

Because it's not there. It's in the mods section right underneath the mod itself. You must not have gotten the mod actually installed.

I didn't "run as admin" or anything. I just put the zip file on my desktop. Then I launched EDHM. Then I clicked here on 3P Mods.

Then I clicked on the blue arrow at the bottom of the window that opens up that says Import Mod:

Then when that opened up, I went and clicked on the zip file on my desktop and hit open and it installed the mod.

After that the mod appeared in the list. When I click on the mod itself the Anaconda theme will open right beneath it. You click on that and start making your changes.

Anyway, happy with my results...
My screenshots are just titled random letters from Steam, and low quality... I've seen a few people have similar format naming as your screenshots. I play in VR so I'm wondering if you're using a 3rd party tool or something that can be binded to a controller for those high res shots? My older AMD GPU had it's own High res screen grab that was perfect, but my newer RTX seems to only have the on-screen pop-up suite (tried using macros to time keystrokes but worked inconsistently).

And again, someone else who didn't even take the time to read what I did and why it was there.

Thanks though.
i did read it all and i looked at ur screenshots. i am a moderator for the edhm-ui discord group. so if u followed the instructions that i proof read before the release then it should all be working fine. Since it aint could i please ask if u can change the hud colours at all by chance? if not can u please add exceptions in ur antivirus for edhm and uninstall and reinstall edhm-ui. as well as make sure u have one drive turned off as both cause issues with edhm. also maybe consider joining the edhm discord group so we r better able to help u get it working
