(question at the end.... Anyone have recommendations for good color palette generator sites?)

Your work is AWESOME as always! I downloaded the plugin and gave it a try, was wondering if there will be themes coming (each folder shows a 'default' theme... pretty sure that's for people like me who couldn't pick 3 colors that create harmony to save my life).

I see there are 2 places to input color codes... A long time ago I used to use a website that had A.I. that would help you create color palettes that worked well together... but I can't remember the site and all the new color generator sites seem to want all kinds of cookies and access to your PC. Anyone have recommendations for good color palette generator sites that allow you to choose how many colors you want (3, 4, 5...) that are known 'safe' sites? (I'm officially old) Also I think the color box is using hexadecimal right? so a site that also uses hex? I think the old site I used to use also had a color sampler to have a root-color to start with (or maybe that was photoshop or Affinity Photo... can't remember)

Pick a color. Then below the box you'll see a dropdown box with several different options for types of pallets to create.

In the CPM Guide I suggest using the Adobe Colour Wheel website to generate a good colour palette. I use it for nearly all my themes, but there's quite a few palette generators out there. Some others I use are the Color Calculator (takes multiple base colours) and Colorizer.

With regards to themes, I'm currently converting all the pre v2.0 themes to the new format. I'll put them all on the CPM GitHub starting from tomorrow .. I think we've done about 10 so far, and have about 20 to go

With regards to colour input into each of the Sections, if you click the Section colour box, then the Custom tab, then 'More Colors', you can input a colour via hex or RGB

I've started to make a step-by-step video, but the CPM Guide is a good place to start for now. Once I've finished converting the old themes I'll finish off the video .. lots to do :)

Two short questions here, if I may:
  • does this work in VR (overlays usually don't)?
  • can this turn the "used tractor" ambience of the DBX into a Mercedes S-Class?

The Adobe one is Perfect... I haven't even moved on to try the others... rgb and hex in the same spot, lot's of flexibility, I'm happy.

And I've seen you make comments about fdev possibly not being happy with you.... So I want to make sure They hear Me!
.........If it wasn't for EDHM-UI, I would not have lasted as long playing in VR with the default orange... It was very difficult to read in VR and made me very anxious... EDHM allowed me to find calming colors that didn't put strain on my eyes and made text readable. Fdev, do not give this man (team) any trouble! He is the reason i've spent $200 in ARX over this last year!!!
Hmm, speaking of that, I really should be looking into the 'donation' 'contribution' box for all of the 3rd party tools that I use daily like You, EDMC, EDDi, EDSM, Coriolis and EDSY for helping me build my ships, Cannon and Screenshot plugin for EDMC makers, EDDB.... Soo many 3rd party tools. I wish fdev would come up with a special line of paint-jobs or bobble-heads where they could distribute the profits of those sales to all the top rated 3rd party tools providers. (I didn't mention Inara, but it's pretty obvious from my sig that I'm a patreon member already.)... All you guys are absolutely wonderful, Together with fdev being absolutely wonderful as well... fdev takes a lot of abuse, but understand that it come from us being SO passionate about our favorite simulator ever created!!!

I actually like that the complementary (2 color) and triadic (3 color) workflow of your recommendation is more intuitive than the Adobe site that gives root plus variations... like 'no, I just want two colors, don't confuse me' lol... Really like the simple slider. So your rec would have been my go-to, but the site keeps crashing on me at about the 6th, 7th variation change and have to re-boot the browser and start again... happens repeatedly for me.

Hmmm it should work in VR as it isn't an overlay. The HUD mod works fine in VR so I think the CPM should too. I don't have my VR with me at the moment but please let me know if you try it out

And yes you can refurbish any of those old rusty ships, check out the video in the next post with the sidewinder

Hi CMDRs,

I haven't updated the old themes yet as I wanted to finish another little project first.

Introducing the CPM Helper app, which greatly speeds up the process of painting your cockpit.

The main features are:
  • Dock the EDHM UI 3PM window on top of Elite

  • Right-click the mouse or press F11 in the 3PM app, you don't need to switch to Elite to see your changes

    • If CAPS Lock is ON, the 3PM app will be re-focused after a right-click or F11
    • If CAPS Lock is OFF, Elite will be focused after a right-click or F11

  • Increase or decrease the opacity of the 3PM window

  • CTRL TAB to temporarily hide the 3PM window, CTRL TAB again to unhide

** Download from the CPM GitHub **

It's made with AutoHotKey, and the full script is available on the GitHub, plus a compiled .exe version (if you don't have AutoHotKey installed)

Here's a demo video

I'll try to get the old themes updated tomorrow, cheers!

Here's an excellent video about the CPM made by Rico Brzenska CMDR R^L

I should add, the CPM can also be downloaded from the CPM GitHub, but currently all the CPM themes are on the EDHM Discord in the CPM themes channel. I want to copy them over to the CPM Github as well, it's just been very busy IRL lately

I hope you enjoy the video! (and please note, English isn't Rico's first language, but she does very well explaining the process)
