Autumn DLC Speculation

The skunk should have been a Tasmanian devil. I literally don't know anyone who wanted skunks. I've never seen them in zoos. I think of all the dlcs we've gotten this one definitely has the weakest roster. I only really care about the wombat.

But that they are adding bats is huge and if this doesn't strongly hint that birds are making their way in some form I don't know what does.

The scenery seems too 'themed' for me tbh. I don't know what I'd do with it

Also another think I'm really love all this dlc is small animals It's definitely will be one of my fav dlcs we ever got if it had crested porcupine and tassie devil It's for me the best pack we ever got! I'm really exciting for the raccoons they look just adorable! and the wombat probably will be one of my fav! and the bats just wow!! I never thought that I would love exhibit animal more then habitat animal but yea It's HAPPEN! I'm think the skunk and the red fox really nice inclusion! It's really great pack! WELL DONE FRONTIER!

While I'm very glad to be getting a bat, I have to say the habitat animal choices are really uninspiring to me. Seems baffling that the only animal from the tropics (the one place where night stays the same length year-round) is an exhibit species that may or may not have looped animations.

Figured I would rank the five animals, based on my personal preferences (highest to lowest):
1. Egyptian fruit bat - Looking forward to seeing how they are going to be animated and depending on how they work they bode well for other species; I admit to being a bit puzzled by the exact species choice, when similarly sized, more threatened species like the Rodrigues flying fox were also possible.
2. Common wombat - My favourite of the habitat animals, and wombats have never really featured high on my personal wishlist, which really says something. Still, glad to have at least one new Australian species.
3. Striped skunk - Of the two North American carnivores, this is my preferred option. I see them quite often at smaller zoos and they are an unrepresented taxonomic group.
4. Raccoon - I get that a lot of people wanted it but to me, living in a country where the importing and breeding of raccoons is now banned, it isn't an animal I particularly want to use. But they are of a taxonomic group not represented in-game, so they are good in that manner.
5. Red fox - Of all the model copies that could have been chosen, this is one of the least inspiring - there are many others that would have been much higher on my wishlist such as the springhare (modelled on the kangaroo), kinkajou (modelled on the binturong) or striped hyena (obvious who this would be based on; would also have really fitted the 'spooky' theme.

Perhaps the main positive of this pack for me is that I had worried that if it were a woodlands pack, then my beloved yellow-throated marten would lose its only chance at getting into the game. The hope still lives on for my vivid murderous tree weasels.
I feel pretty much like you about the roster, but i'm i like the bats a lot even if just because of the new possibilities they suggest we might be getting. I guess the Egyptian fruit bat looks more spooky than the rodriguez flying fox (which was also my prefered choice for a flying fox) which are just super cute :p

Oh lord....for the LOVE of jesus crhist...what has frontier created..
For me, this how you NOT create a Planet Zoo dlc. Spooky planet coaster dlc with Planet zoo filter? What a great idea!
At least, animals are very cool except for the skunk, but bats?! Oh lord, that was the best thing. Bigger terrariums and bats screams for birds to this christmas.
But a scenery pack? With Halloween theme? The worst theme since arctic and europe, definitely. I will never use this scenery in my zoos
For me is the most mediocre pack if bats weren´t there

Skunks are cute. I guess i just prefer more exotic animals. The fox, raccoon and skunk are like... just boring to me. But pretty much always get exotic animals so is time for the people who wanted these type of animals to enjoy.

Also the fact that this pack had such a "weak" roster of small animals (and all mammals) suggest we are far from done with the DLCs imo

Ok y'all, here are.my thoughts: Quell's thoughts:

The Twilight Pack is alright. O honestly don't like the theme, except.for maybe 1 fence that would fit gardening teal nice, but I don't like the theme itself.

Plants, I have no idea what they look like, ha ha. I'm sure I'll like them.

The only thing, on my opinion, saving the DLC are the animals, and here are my thoughts for each one:

  • Raccoon - this little guy has been begged for a long time, at least a year. For European players, they're essential for a realistic zoo. For American players, they're essential for an American zoo that is showing local fauna. I love raccoons, and I'm so happy we got them; those sounds are gonna be amazing to hear in-game
  • Striped skunk - I'm a little surprised, but not disappointed. The skunk will be unique, although I've never seen one in a zoo, only in the wild (and I got sprayed once). But, I'm excited to use them and see them. I'm hoping that they may potentially use their spray, but I wouldn't know how they'd use it in-game
  • Common wombat - a wombat, perfect for Australia. A cute, roly poly marsupial that'd be fun to house. The way they're adding Oceanian animals, although slow, is filling up, and according to our players from that area, all that's missing is the emu, Tasmanian devil, kiwi, and tuatara
  • Red fox - I love foxes. Although I prefer the gray fox, the red is good enough for me. I can't wait to see their multiple color mutations and to hear those chilling screams in-game. These are perfect for Europe and North America
  • Egyptian fruit bat - ok, this checks a lotta things: flying, exhibit mammal, bat, North Africa, desert. This is a clear winner and will so exciting to use. I'm real curious as to how this new version of exhibits will work, and it makes me wonder if we're getting another flyer as an anniversary gift (the new exhibit is exclusive to them as of now, but it's coming in the update. So, we HAVE to get something that could use it in the base game)

Okay, this was unexpected.
The fact that we are getting a new type of exhibit and fruit bats is amazing and make me optimistic that we will get flying birds, maybe already in December.
But the red fox honestly, why?? There would have been way better choices.

Red foxes are iconic, they cant have a zoo game without them even if they aren't widely requested

That's another thought i had... the sound design will be amazing for sure! The red fox and the raccoons alone are so distinctive with their noises. I'm sure that will be something that won't dissapoint.

You may be right but I personally don't need them. Especially in a normal pack with just 4 habitat animals. I would have liked a more creative solution than three small carnivores from the Northern hemisphere and wombat. Animals like ocelots, fossas, kinkajous, kiwis etc. would be more interesting for me and would have made the pack more diverse.

The skunk is exotic to some people though - I've never seen a wild skunk or raccoon because they don't live in my country, but I often see them in zoos. I'm really excited to see these guys in the game.
