Oh boy, I'm starting one of these!

Here are all of the new and old biome skirts both from the Sandbox screen, as well as pre-made scenario maps which can be used for Sandbox and Challenge modes:

Thanks for this. I'm really not sure how to feel about these... no temperate North America maps that aren't surrounded by lakes on all sides? I think a bunch of us oversold ourselves on these based on the initial announcement.

These look amazing! Is the old temperate biome skirt still there though? The one with the countryside hills and fields?

These look really nice...but....I can't believe there isn't a single full-on city backdrop. There's one that has a few sparse buildings on one side, but that's it. Given how much effort some people have gone to in order to build a city "backdrop" on the map, you'd think it would have been a given.

Thank you so much for sharing these! I think they're a decent start but I wish we had some more to be honest, and a lot of them feel a little same-y (two waterside NA temperate maps?). I'm glad they fixed the inaccuracies of the North American grassland map so it no longer looks like an African savanna, I just wish that treatment was extended to more maps (was really hoping New Zealand would be fixed, but oh well...).

Can you use any of these? Like, mix and match biome skirts? For example, use a tundra skirt but maybe have a tropical map?

Also, are all these biome skirts available when making a new zoo in any mode?

I could not find it for some reason. However there are still workshop maps you could download for it. Hope we get a pick and choose one soon.

Agree on that. However I hope soon I am able to provide one for you all utilizing Freebuild.

Unfortunately no to the first questions.

More or less yes to the second question. Cannot use career maps for Franchise.

Thanks for sharing these. This confirms that the next Version of my antarctic Research Center will be the final one unless we get a Version at some Point that is connected to the Ocean on one Side (Option without prebuilt Entrance would also be nice because I don't like those at all due to the Fact that you always have that damn useless Building that you can't get rid of) so I won't need to have a Fake Ocean at the Penguin Coast that's basically just a Lake with a weird Edge

So did I see it correctly in a Video that we can't actually choose which Map we want to use? It's a Shame because I also really liked the old ones (the original Temperate Background would be so perfect if we would someday get more domesticated Animals, so I could build a Farm there)
Nice to see that they seem to have changed the Grass Color on the North American Grassland Map.
Also didn't open a single Zoo on the original Australian Desert Map so sadly this one is completely lost for me.
I can't see a temperate Asia Map. Does that mean my next Zoo will use the original Temperate Map?

So strange that they’d take away some of the existing biome skirts. I really hope they haven’t, and that all of the old skirts are still options. I’ll be really disappointed if they are gone (

Am I just imagining things or is the north america map smaller than the ones we have now?

I'm honest, I am extremly underwhelmed. As I said, I'm the happiest woman on earth with the animal selection of the DLC. But the update, looking at the skirts and considering I don't use exhibits, don't hit me at all now.
And I agree that most of us asked for a city skirt... and here we are.

Also, you labelled two maps as Temperate - North America and the old 'sculpted' South America map is still present and correct if you select that option. That's a Shame. I really hope they will bring the old temperate Map back because I like it and as I've mentioned it would be absolutely perfect if we should get something like a Petting Zoo Pack someday. Should've rather deleted the original Tundra Map

This makes me so genuinely angry…. I have spent all this time since the game came out making my flagship franchise zoo in Florida with the old background for temperate…. Just for us to have now not one…. But two temperate options that are perfect for Florida…. That I can’t use on my old saves… I’m so upset

Man, gotta say i was really hyped when the announcement came out, but now im disapointed. I was really hoping for something like the europe fields map with a city in the background to give the feel of a zoo 5 driving minutes outside of town.

Oh that's a shame. But great news that I started my new zoo on that farmland map. So much water in the new maps that ruin the European feel. Alot of these mountains and stuff make me feel that I'm building a zoo in Switzerland

Congratulations on starting a Map there in Time.
All those Mountains also mean a proper Zoo in the Netherlands is impossible. It's been Years since I was there but isn't most of the Country relatively flat?

What the.... why did they do that? I don't want to always use a water map or a mountain map for europe. It was my most used map! I'm .. speechless
