Winter DLC Speculation

Exactly. I'm not against well implemented petting zoos, but I imagine that we're most likely to see the two concepts combined. Maybe a roster of a wallaby, a dwarf goat, a small monkey, a rock hyrax (or a donkey, a duck, a pheasant, an emu...) + 1 or 2 new exhibit snakes/lizards/turtles/fish, and a parrot/butterfly/flyibg squirrel walkthrough. Add some playground/education related build pieces to make up for the lack of habitat animals and boom, one of the most versatile packs in the game.

I can also 100% picture a new scenario where Bernie has to begrudgingly accept help from Dominic to make his new free children's zoo fiscally viable.
I really like the proposed lineup here. Goat, wallaby, and a monkey in one pack? Be still my heart.

Disagree with the scenario premise, though. Dominic doesn’t deserve a redemption arc.

For me a perfect and realistic pack would have 16 birds and would be called "Aviary Expansion Pack", because we already have JWE2 dominion expansion. I know jwe2 is not the same as PZ, but you understood me

Aviary Expansion Pack
-Take flight into the air with the new aviary expansion pack! Bring to your zoos 18 feathery friends with new flight behaviours implemented with the Egyptian Fruit Bat, and 3 terrestrial birds very requested by the community. Introducing new aviary modules, with 5 sizes (Small,Medium,Medium-Large,Large,Huge),10 forms (Rectangular, cubic, triangular, spherical, Dome, London zoo-like, septogonal, Octogonal, 9 sides and customizable) With various textures (Mesh, glass, ropes, metal, null). Bring to this new aviary and habitats 18 new animals! Some of them will be in both habitat and aviary. Almost every animal in the game will be able to be in an aviary.

Habitat:
-Emu
-North Island Brown Kiwi
-Secretary Bird

Aviary:
-Blue And Golden Macaw
-Bald Eagle
-Bengal Eagle Owl
-Harris Hawk
-Great White Pelican (able to be outside the aviary but can´t fly)
-Rhinoceros Hornbill
-Toco Tucan
-Mallard (able to be outside the aviary but can´t fly)
-Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo
-Atlantic Puffin (Special aquatic Aviary)
-Scarlet Ibis
-Griffon Vulture
-Rainbow Lorikeet
-African Gray Parrot
-Bali Myna

I would add 5 more small birds like the lovebird, sun conure, cockatiel and blue-fronted amazon, but knowing frontier it would be something like this
And no exotic ducks, just mallard, there is not a single zoo in this entire world without them, i can assure u
I'm thinking 16 birds as well. Though maybe just 8 - 12 at most with the winter pack. but if the winter pack is another scenery pack and not a birds pack, say like Islands or something, I'll really be hoping for more like 16 birds in March/April. Though it would seem like a drought of new animals for a few months, by the time the spring pack released it would all be sorted out to the same amount, if not more animals.

Choosing 16 birds though..pretty easy for me

Walk through exhibit:

Bald Eagle
Snowy Owl
Roadrunner
Toco Toucan
Scarlet Macaw
a second Macaw - Hyacinth? Blue and Yellow? Military?
African Grey Parrot
Rhinoceros Hornbill (keep in mind we'd have two flying birds from Asia with the Peafowl/RCC)
Kookaburra
Sulpher Crested Cockatoo

Habitat (as is possible now):

Scarlet Ibis
Secretary Bird
Shoebill Stork
Grey Crowned Crane or Marabou Stork
Mute Swan (I think could be habitat, maybe I'm wrong though)
Australian Pelican (I think could be habitat, maybe I'm wrong though)

Is it possible, that the update somehow destroyed the path system? I can't connect habitats anymore (I connected 3 different habitats with paths...and the trade center but I always get the message, not connected). It seems that it doesn't work at all.🤔

Now that i have the dlc i will give my opinion about it with notes of the animals, scenery, music, and possible 1.12 dlc.

Animals:
Raccoon: Is very well done, and i have seen them when i was little in a zoo, but maybye not my type of animal, at least is well designed and it has very cool animations
7/10
Striped Skunk: This is the most weak choice on the pack. Skunks are not an animal that I like, but it is very well designed
5/10
Red Fox: In game they look so good, walking animations are different from existing foxes, and that is better. Its colour variations and good design make it a very welcome addition
8/10
Common Wombat: My favourite habitat animal. It´s design is gorgeus, finally another Oceanian representation, with it´s characteristics and unique design and animations
10/10
Egyptian Fruit Bat: My personal favourite. This animal will launch the game to flying birds 100%. It´s design is the better of the terrarium animals, and it´s loop animations are very good disimulated. My star of the pack
10/10

Scenery:
My least favourite thing of the pack. Not a fan of season/year event scenery, and Halloween don´t atract me so much, so this do not work for me 0%.
1/10

Foliage:
The new plants like that pine are very good for more bushy forests, and fallen leaves are so cool
6/10

Music:
As always, Frontier always nails the music, this represents so well that evening/morning feeling.
9/10

Possible and realistic future 1.12 dlc:
So, now we can´t even have a single idea that aproximates to what frontier is preparing, but we can have ideas. For a realistic vote i´ll go to a mountains animal pack, with animals like the wolverine and the takin, so desired options. But for a maybye possible too we have the aviary pack. With the new bat, birds are almost confirmed, just some touches to the aviaries and the loop animations and we will have them.

I know this is extremely controversial, but a large part of me wants a normal animal pack this December and not birds. Don't come for me! With the Twilight Pack not having any animals I really want, the fact that we may not get any highly-requested mammals/reptiles until April is a bit sad. I definitely do understand why flying birds are so highly requested, and it makes sense for them to be added to the game ASAP because people have been dying to have them since launch. But, I still am bummed about possibly not getting any of the animals high up on the meta-wishlist until spring. Again, I'm NOT anti-flying birds this December, they are definitely cool and I would be SO extremely hyped.

Unrelated Note: Personally, as cool as this pack is, I still think it should have been an animal pack with the same theme. I think the game needs more animals over hyper-stylized pieces. (The new wall set is great though!)

I also prefer to get a normal animal pack this Winter. I like the twilight pack and also its species. But after we got the bat I am personally convinced that flying birds will also be done in the same way. It is not the thing that I do not like the bat but I am not a fan of a pack just consisting of exhibit animals in the end (a better version of exhibits but still exhibits). If we should get birds I hope we get a mixed pack consisting of Habitat and exhibit birds but I personally prefer an animal pack we are used to like mountains or islands or whatever.

Definitely rooting for a mountains pack, I need the fluffy happy Pallas cat

Enough with the cats. Unless it's something completely unlike anything we have, like an ocelot or a sand cat, I'd be fine with no more cats. Maybe a caracal as we have no desert cats.
Well to be honest ocelot is just a slightly different clouded leopard. Sand cat or Pallas cat would be great because we don't have a single small cat in game, lynx or clouded leopard are not small they are mid sized cats really

I am personally another opinion but on the Forum we surely all have different views on what we want or not 😀. We are lacking smaller cats in my opinion. The 3 obvious choices according to the meta wishlist Caracal, Serval and Ocelot are all cats with unique looks and all 3 live in different biomes (drylands, grasslands, tropical rainforest). Sand Cat and also Pallas Cat are even more unique than the cats I have listed above and I would welcome them, too.

Apparently I thought ocelots are much smaller than they really are.

I started to wonder what name they would go for with a bird or mostly bird pack

Expecting it would be an animal pack, and animal packs always having "animal pack" in the name it gets weird for me.

-Bird(s) Animal pack - Sounds weird
-Wings of the World Animal pack - still kinda weird.
-Aviary Animal Pack - They still use the word exhibit for the new form, so I don't see them starting to use this word now. Also this would mean habitat birds like Emu and similar couldn't be part of this pack.

Any logical names that includes "Animal Pack" in it?
