Elite Dangerous: Halloween Event 2022

I can assure you that in the Gaelic tradition in North West Scotland Samhain was never considered marking the start of the new year.
Its down to interpretation (isnt everything when we never wrote books!) but generally from the Wheel of the year its classed as the end of the Celtic year and beginning of a new one, at least from the Groves i regularly speak with but we are all free spirits after-all.

Just to further your knowledge then ...

"... in Gaelic the year was divided into seasonal quarters beginning with Ciad Mìos an Earraich (literally, "the first month of spring") around the beginning of our modern February ..." which of course coincides with the Celtic "Imbolc" fire festival.

Nowadays in the far north they still have "Auld New Year" which is the Julian calendar so our January 14 next year but they are all Norse stock aren't they. ;)

But that last applies in part to almost anyone whose ancestors lived near a river you could row or haul a ship up from Greenland to the Black Sea.

Well nothing doing at Algol. The tourist beacon left from an older treasure hunt, associated earth relic pickup and some generic surface signals. No obvious connections to the current event.

Thanks @CMDR TIMBERMCWOLF @StuBaDub and others for checking...
Anyone found anything meanwhile, anything new about the pod in the sun?
I also received that message and it feels like there is still something...

What makes me wonder about that message... but maybe it's just my miserable english...

"malevolant snake skins"? Just a typo? That's not the name of the paint job...!?
"Something suitably sinister" sounds like an announcement to me...

While i write and think about... maybe i will drop to the system again this evening...
But i have absolutely no idea if and what could be a hint there.

For the issue with paint job: Elite Dangerous: Cobra MKIII Noctule Blight Creator Drop Missing From Livery
Since thursday my paint job for Cobra arrived, even without support. (but i also redeemed the code for Noctule Hex, so this maybe triggered the confirmation for the Noctule Blight...)

Seems pretty straight forward to me.

All those ships are named after snakes. A paintjob in Elite is what would be called a "skin" in other games. - Thus, malevolent snake skins.

Your user name suggests that you are german. This website might be of help for you:
It has even a (quite capable) text translation feature.

By the way, this tool isn't just for germans. If you check the upper line of the page, where it reads "Deutsch", you find a drop down list with all languages this tool is available in.

And "something suitably sinister" refers to the paintjob itself. If you have seen it, you know why.

Imho that message was just an ingame notification that one got the Malevolent Ghoul paintjobs for watching the stream and being a witness...

My 2 Ct.

I did not watch the stream.
But I got that message and the paintjobs.

This message was most likely directed at those that went to Guarijio and read all the logs there.

Are you sure you've got the Malevolent Ghoul paintjobs ? (the green/yellow-ones from the stream) Or did you get the Malevolent Demon ones from the event (orange/yellow) ?

Hmm... but if so, maybe FD rewarded the Ghoul paintjobs to everyone "posthum"... 🤷‍♂️
Yeah, nah. I didn't watch the stream and got the message, so it must be for following up at Guarijio.

I only picked up the Malevolent Demon paintjobs as a result, which makes the ghoul reference a little puzzling.

I went to Guarijio yesterday. I got the “snake skin” message as soon as I had scanned all the logs. I also got the demon paint jobs.

Did not watch the stream.
