How to get Mbooni permit? For anti-thargoid weapons

BTW, are any of those weapons worth it?

I heard someone say they could one-shot kill targoid scouts at 3km. Can they? Or were they talking about some other weapon?

Imho none of the Azimuth sponsored weapons are worth at this moment. They are not bad weapons, it's just that there are better generic alternatives for each one.

The Modified Gauss Cannon is hard to handle, and even when you perfectly align the four round burst shot, it just deals the same dps as the regular Guardian Gauss, while generating slightly more heat (in theory it generates the same heat, but due to the way the burst fire works, you will be seeing higher temps all around). In general, you will always be getting worse performance than with the regular Gauss.

The Modified Plasma Charger is perhaps better than the Generic Plasma Charger, but like it's parent weapon it's tricky to use anyway, so I consider it niche at best.

Finally, the Modified Shard Cannon is again better that the generic Guardian variant, with one exception. You can unlock up to Class 3 Guardian Shard Cannons, but the Azimuth modified ones only come in Class 1 and 2 sizes. And the Shard Cannons are anyway inferior to a properly engineered Fragment Cannon, so there is no reason to go for the Guardian/Modified variants either way.

In general, for Thargoid hunting you should be better served with regular Gausses for Interceptors, and regular AX-Multicannons for Scouts (or regular Gausses if you like to "oneshot" them, albeit I find easier and faster to pepper them with turreted AX-MCs). And for non Thargoid PvE and PvP there are better alternatives in the "regular" market by using proper engineering.

With the mention that Class2 moddified Shard Cannon is better than the normal class 3 Shard Cannon.
So much better that i fail to see why would anyone want to use the normal class 3

When FDev moves the megaship, what would be needed to get the Mbooni permit (non-participants of the CG)?

I heard someone say that I had to get allied with Azimuth Biotech and then go to Glorious Prospect and do "the mission".

Are they pulling my leg? I think they are.

I didn't fall for the free Anaconda thing, but I guess I fell for that.

Alright, I think I can confirm:

I went to the megaship and checked the missions: nothing. I was "neutral" with Azimuth.

So I had to jump all the way to T Tauri.
There they only have donation type missions, so no idea how much money you'd have to give them to reach Allied.
Luckily I still had a bunch of Exploration data, so I sold them some.

Also had the impression that they require WAY more Explo data than usual to increase reputation. Might be mistaken though. (I tend to sell off data piecemeal so I don't dump too much into one faction).

Anyway, when I got the mail that I was now considered an Ally, I went back to the megaship.
Lo and behold: Follow-up mission (with the chain link symbol), Permit Acquisition.
The permit was immediately issued upon accepting, no actual mission required.

So in short... if you thought (like me) you could get the permit without taking a trip to T Tauri now that the megaship is parked next door... you were mistaken.

Yeah... but grinding regular missions takes forever. 😬 There it's quicker to take those ~9 jumps to T Tauri and back again.

FWIW, I think I sold them about 10-11M worth of explo data.

Plot twist: I was already allied with them before I asked here :p

I had plenty of free time in my hands and FDev was stalling things a bit, so... I went to T Tauri, gave Azimuth a bunch of money (I thin it was about 15 million credits, give or take), making me almost allied. Then I went to all other places Azimuth had bases (Wandrama and LHS 157) and got the rest of the way into allied with remaining donation missions.

I guess I just have to:

1. go the megaship;
2. profit!!! (I wish)

Thanks a lot for the info!!!

Yeah, so now I checked out that base on Mbooni, well it's nice but damn they want an awful lot of Blueprints

So did I understand that correctly, buying the modified weapons at the tech broker will only get you one a pop? oÔ
I need to go Guardian farming anyway, but I'm not at all looking forward to it, and I can already say I won't be able to grind that routine 12 times over. oÔ So I guess I'll try my luck with the regular weapons and wait for another CG goal.

Yes, the modified weapons are direct trades for mats instead of permanent unlocks for purchase. Twelve seems like a lot (when the per ship limit is four) unless you're an experienced AX pilot, in which case you would probably already have a load of extra blueprints from guardian mat collecting trips.

Well, on the contrary, I'm a total noob when it comes to AX, and don't have any of the Guardian weapons yet and am also still missing the Module Reinforcement.
So I'm gonna need the blueprints for the regular items, and then on top of that any special ones I might, and some of them cost 2 BPs each. Ouch.

Nope, unfortunately not! Selling my data there was my initial plan when I went there... and was foiled.
Have you considered selling your data to a carrier parked there (even at a 25% loss)?

Mine (Independence) is close, at LHS 157 (IIRC). Tax is zero.

Will hop in when I leave work.
