Alec's guide to "interesting" colonisation systems and stations.

Most systems around the Veil West Nebula have been colonized, so there are literally dozens of stations that could be chosen to display them against the nebula in the background, so I tried the most dramatic-looking shot I could find.

Just to say, for others waiting for their suggested entries to be added to the list, I'm working through them (in a slightly haphazard way), waiting for a chance to visit some, and adding other obvious candidates immediately.

Oh, and speaking of that, I also went to visit Eratic Spawn's "Gustard Foundry" myself today - spectacular location!

And obviously I had to climb the mountain.

While not the most interesting in terms of features in the system itself, it is nonetheless important to feature for the mere achievement.

Synuefe EN-H d11-95

This was the first system to be colonized after the completion of the Guardian Highway bridge, a bridge of 37 outposts from Exphiay all the way to Synuefe EN-H d11-96.
The bridge has been a collaborative effort between Canonn, the Guardian Science Corps, and independent commanders.

Synuefe EN-H d11-96 is the only human controlled system with a Guardian structure. (As systems with ruins and structures cannot be colonized).
And this system is now the center of host of colonies in the area, trying to make the wayward outpost into the center of a new Human settlement.

The efforts in the surrounding area are spearheaded by the Xeno-Tech Industries who seeks to study the Guardian ruins to further the development of technology and hybrid ships.

Can you clarify something for me ... is Synuefe EN-H d11-95 a player colonised system or not? I'm confused as it's described as both "the first system to be colonized" and as "the only human controlled system with a Guardian structure. (As systems with ruins and structures cannot be colonized)".

EN-H d11-95 is player colonized.
EN-H d11-96 is a system with ruins that was previously inhabited (by NPCs), which is what the bridge from the bubble headed towards.

I've seen that there are already 2 similar locations on the list, but i wanted to share. System is Scorpii Sector CQ-Y b4, planet 3, and I have built 7 settlements in a planet crater. 6 Odyssey settlements in the edge of the crater, and 1 Planet port right in the center.

The planet port can be seens (very small) from all the settlements.
But the interesting view is from space, during night time. The settlements create an interesting pattern in the surface.

Hope the view is interesting enough for everyone.

That's a nice one, being able to see the planetary port from the other stations is a big plus!

That view of the 7 from space is worth it alone - amazing! The other one was "Detroit" but I really appreciate the perfect symmetry of yours - nicely done! How did you measure that out? I'm thinking some careful planning using another player as a marker but perhaps I'm wrong?

It wasn't a very precise process, but here is what i did. First i created 1 settlement construction point, and then traveled to the other side of the crater (2 players can work too). And where i thought it was the other side (i believe there is no easy way to see if you are exactly in front, you know what i mean?), i noted the distance which was around 750 km, then asked chatgpt to help me calculate the distance between the settlements, but in a straight line between each settlement, not the circular perimeter distance (i could only build 7 structures, so 6 for the edge, and last in the center).

And remember the 200 km minimum distance between settlements.

Flew down to the California nebula today (mostly to solve a problem it's nice to have, namely deploying all the prebuilt ships I've been given as part of the Elite Partner program so they don't clog up the top of the shipyard list when I'm back in the bubble). It's pretty cool to see the colonisation chain stretching down there now (and surrounding Mic Turner Base). Although the area is heavily colonised now I confess I didn't manage to find many really spectacular locations (aside from the obvious nebula background) but I'll include this one to showcase colonisation of that nebula unless anyone has a better example down there.

Decided to go and have a look at this arrangement myself, the main port is called "Chaotic Good Institute"

Vela Pulsar

Gromov Gateway. This outpost maintains high-velocity orbit around the pulsar. From what I've seen, it appears to be the norm with new stations orbiting neutron stars, though I haven't explored enough of them to say for certain. An outpost in my other system (which will follow this post) is living the same life. The following two are video clips:

There is currently a Coriolis construction site in progress, however, the people that are supposed to build it are facing challenges docking at the station. If you linger around the site, the neutron star might pull your ship into its own orbit. Though it is still very much possible to dock and quite easy if you ask me. If you want to help speed things up, you can try docking and dropping some commodities at the site, so that we can see how the pulsar affects a Coriolis this time.

So my own colony Pegasi Sector BL-W B2-5 has a few highlights (nothing that unique but still thought I'd share)
1. Exploration hub in amongst the mountains (also have military base near there)
2. Tourist settlement next to a geyser powerful enough to eject you from the planet's gravity (you stay stuck in orbit)
3. Research settlement with a nice crater view

This next one is an absolute banger of a system, one of the most bizarre I've seen in the context of colonisation (although I'm not big on black holes or neutron stars). This system has everything Vela Pulsar has and more.

First of all, let's take a look at this first black hole surfing the purple class B star (which itself is part of a close binary) right as you enter the system. Since the black hole has only one colonisation slot, I'm planning to put a T3 Orbis station around it once I have enough points. It will probably bug out anyway as is often the case with low orbit stations - this is something I've been running into far too often. However, if anyone feels like contributing to this vista down the line, feel free to bookmark the system.

Knight Sanctuary:

As an example within the same system, this is what we can expect from a station orbiting a black hole. Tesla Sanctuary (after Nikola Tesla).

This is unfortunately your typical "catch me if you can" station. Docking failed, but I was able to slip into its path, close enough for it not to crash into my ship but pull me into its orbit. Unfortunately, apart from the holo-ads, the station remained invisible.

Like the Vela Pulsar, the local neutron star hosts a fast-orbiting outpost, only with a slightly better view. X Vista:

Wylair Verdure Center in the LHS 1734 system. LHS 1734 is the lowest mass DC dwarf in the codex so far, and it's the coldest known magnetic white dwarf in real life. The system itself isn't particularly interesting, just that the star holds records. Someone better at finding angles could probably do the screenshot more justice...

Hi there.

I doubt Race tracks (Small Construction site) like this are particularly unique, but I think this one is a bit of a looker in this icy blue terrain, with giant ice blocks for spectators
It's the kind with the banking bends and Jump at the end.

Tried to catch the black hole outpost, but failed. Docked at both X Vista and Knight Sanctuary.

Couldn't see any ill effects from the radiation at X Vista, honestly.
