It's 2025: Where are the Decade Club Commanders?

I started on the forums on the 19th and would have got Elite Dangerous Base game for the iMac a little before that, I switched to PC a few months later after the magic smoke escaped from the iMac.

I started Elite back in 1985 on a 48k Spectrum and years later played Frontier: Elite II on something else, I remember playing it but not what I was running. I missed FFE.

Spectrum hell yeah.
Mysteriously, the "M" and "N" characters became noticeably worn off the keyboard keys of the family speccy, and the M-key wore out and became unreliable.
I still took down ships dogfighting with only pitch up, pitch down, and roll left controls. Had to adjust my tactics a little though 😂

I started on this forum in 2015. I know some have been here at least a couple years longer if not more. Where are you decade club commanders and wouldn't it be nice to have some insignia to show your tenure on your uniform or ship? (I am assuming none is available).
I don't know about a been around for too long badge, but I wouldn't mind an Elite *5 decal or better yet an Elite 5*5 Decal :D

7/17/2015 here.
I'm pretty sure one of my accounts has the Xbox preview program emblem and of course the cobra mk IV. It's my colonia account, I don't really use it.

would be nice to see a 10 yr badge of honour the more I think about it! Of course might be a magnet for unscrupulous target practice for others!
Don't worry, in PVP you will be dead before they even have a chance to see your ship on the screen, let alone a tiny badge.
I have never once been able to actually see a badge on another ship whenever I play in Mobius even during this CG when there were a dozen commanders in Minerva station all spithosting in the chat and goading the Open "players" who were all complaining about nobody playing in Open.

I went into open for interdicted by a mk 5 it was cute I just boosted away no shots fired from any ship a nice interaction especially when I didn't expect it . And then spent 20 mins waiting for a slot to get in as it must take the PC ages to fill up 🤦‍♂️.

How about alt.fan.elite?

But I registered here on 2012. November 7 apparently. It was right after I heard about Elite 4 Elite: Dangerous coming to Kickstarter.
<-----It's where the user icon came from; I was given the image as an alt.faq icon reward for writing up details for the Amiga version. I don't recall how it was supposed to stay unique, this being decades before people thought about grifting with blockchain, and the newsgroups didn't really do image profiles, so I think I was supposed to add it to my Geocities webring or something. Archived all my data over the years, a trait that came in handy when irrationally psychopathic lunatics spent years sending harassment for daring to criticise another crowd funded game.... Ahh how innocent we all were about the internet and gaming back then.

2014, beta backer and (second round) LEP owner.

My Elite career started with borrowing the original box from Wolverhampton Public Library (lenslock and all) for my rubber chum, the 48k Sinclair Spectrum in around 1985.

I like to think my first comments here were in the OG Hotel California thread.

I started in April 2014 at Premium Beta level and have been on the same game save since Gamma in December 2014 (I think it was December).

I bet I’m one of the few veterans with no fleet carrier and, well, no fleet. But that’s by choice. I also picked a side and stuck with it to become a Federation honorary admiral. The Empire still calls me a “serf” (the cheek!) and I’m currently at minus -64% unfriendly with them.

I recently broke the one billion mark with my balance at the Bank of Zaonce, but then, I do give a lot of my money away in political donations to Federal factions, as duty requires!

I bought ED in June of 2015 during a Steam sale. Joined this message board the following September. Bought the "bargain that apparently wasn't a bargain" $180 lifetime pass shortly after that.
Played the original Elite on Commodore 64 back in '86.

Kickstarter backer with lifetime account. Didn't play for a few years but came back lately with the new ships and features.
Originally played Elite on a Commodore 64. Lots and lots of hours clocked in FE2 and FFE (oh so many hours) :)

I've got the Xbox Game Preview Program emblem. That's my decade logo

Played 1984 elite on a C64.
Saw Frontier once when I had an Amiga.
Life happened, went to college, got job(s), etc.
Heard about Elite Dangerous and signed up to support this sort of development (AKA. LEP)
Started on the forum in 2015 about the same time as I bought the game.

I stalked alt.fan.elite long before this forum. Since 2000

What is a decade in the history of Elite?

I played Elite for the first time on a BBC micro on new year's eve 1984.
Frontier Elite II in 1993.
Frontier First Encounters in 1995.
Then a long intermezzo filled with Indepencence War, Tomb Raider, Home World, F-22, Total Air War, Flanker, Quake, Half-Life, Unreal Tournament, Battlefield, Lock On and much more.
I learned about the Elite Kickstarter on alt.fan.elite and became a kickstarter backer in december 2012.
I started playing Elite Dangerous on new year's eve 2014 and joined the forums the next morning.
