Yes, trying to get new players to see Thargoids as a threat and that they have an impact on gameplay will never get them interested trying to stop them.
July 3305: support for the extermination of the Thargoids surges, with the rallying cry "THEY ARE SO INCONVENIENT!"
They did this to kick our butts into fighting the thargoids.
I've never understood why some new players chase G5 engineering in the first place when they can barely fly.

if they want to kick our butts into fighting the goids, why not make the gameplay a bit less unbalanced. it should not take mountains of materials and crafting to fight them and it shouldn't require arbitrary limits on weapons to make it difficult.
The reason people aren't fighting them isn't motivation, it's balance and (arguably..according to some players) that there's nothing to be done except shoot them.
G5 DD is hardly a requirement

Simple. Because they think that better/engineered gear is some kind of "silver bullet" which will fight the battle instead of them and they will not need to learn how to fly.
It is similar in all MMOs. Peoples tend to believe that better gear will correct their lack of understanding of game mechanics.
I agree. Murdering Selene Jean would of had a much bigger impact on the Targoid brawl.
