Is it just me who's finding the amount of Power SS's a bit overwhelming when you're looking for other SS's?
I mean, I guess it's great that they're there (haven't looked at PP2 yet) but it'd have been nice if FDev had, perhaps, put them on a different frequency, on the scanner, so I could...
It's been a while since I've played, just jumped back in and on the first system I jumped into I got 5 rogue signalsources, all with unique names and all causing the FSS text to corrupt as well as emitting ominous sounds.
Are these Thargoid-related things do we know?
I have a problem that started 2 days ago. Every time I go into an (Unidentified signalsource) all the salvage is invisible. I don't remember any setting that would do that. Can anyone help me please!!
I'm in Sol right now, using the FSS. I was in Sol a couple of of days ago and didn't see this happen, this is new!
when you zoom in on them (like the screenshot) the UI glitches! I can only see 6 presently.
Before there used to be fixed seeking luxuries or seeking weapons signalsources. Inside there would be a T9 that would buy your cargo. Then it was changed to a blue mission related signalsource that would randomly pop up.
Do these signalsources still exist? I’ve not seeing one in a long...
...were able to see this before it was later removed from the game. Now that Galnet has announced that the Stargoids are called Rogue SignalSources I decided to make this teaser for what's coming, because I'm so HYPED knowing how different this is to anything that's happened before! Update 14...
...into the Trapezium Sector DR-U c3-7 star system, we heard a hissing incoming transmission signal near the star itself. No visible signalsources found. In the star system, there is an ammonia world with ammonia-carbon forms of life.
Our steps are to intercept the signal again and try to...
Hi, I have jumped to the system in question, and honked the system.
The main star is identified as mission location. I orbit the star in super cruise assist, but the signal for the actual salvage never happens.
How long should i wait?
thanks

Hey all,
So, I entered my first Non-Human SignalSource this evening, just to check it out before fully equipping my ship. I enter the instance, see I'm somewhat out-matched and go to retreat. The game crashes. Crashes are rare in ED for me these day - never once had an Orange Sidewinder or...
Hi all
at the minute the time remaining we see for signalsources when you target them appears in the info box top right of our HUD.
the problem with this is if you are trying to maximise the no of signalsources you can attempt to get to - you have to target each one individually to get the...
Just shown up and there is dead anaconda. I have been asked to find and scan the signalsource. I have targeted the onboard data beacon but this hasn't had any results. What am I meant to do?
Ok so it would be super helpful if when we are nav locked to someone and heading for a signalsource, the nav-locked CMDR could see the position in space of the signalsource.
Currently the best workaround for the Thargoid invincible heart bug is to drop into the signalsource simultaniously...
...unknown, and the fear of it.
I believe that, in order to add more variety and tension to exploration missions, a "Mysterious Emissions" signalsource may be considered, to be found in systems far from the bubble (i.e. >500ly). It will be a rarely spawned signal of course.
A curious explorer...

...something new - or did I simply run out of (orbital) luck due to some stellar motion of stars here?
After being unable to resolve a SignalSource via FSS, I tried flying to it in order to check it out. Except... didn't work.
Tried to "sneak in" stone-cold but the Body Exclusion Zone was...
...I hear a message like "Mission objective detected". And some blue lines appears. It's in french, but roughly translated it's : "A signalsource relative to the mission has been discovered".
So I take a look in the signalsources : I only have Unknown SignalSources ! Nothing is blue, or with...
...I goggled before posting, I see people complaining about uss’s not producing hge’s. And hge’s not dropping the resource they want. But not much on signalsources, other than slow down, which I’ve done.
Is the “discovered new signalsource” the message indicating a uss?
What am I doing wrong?
...system Hyades Sector BV-X B1-3!
This just happened 3 minutes ago. Was honking my way through a system and happened upon a non- human signalsource. Obviously it was Thargoids.
When I dropped out of SC I was immediately attacked.
Luckily I boosted ...and jumped to the next system with...
as I was doing my peaceful material gathering at a threat 0 signalsource, an NPC pirate dropped by and destroyed my ship. a ship that was unarmed, being set up for exploration.
if this is Frontier's take on creating a 'fun' experience - well, my views are very different.
it's also...
Since the 3.2 patch it appears that the only NHSS threat level is now 5. cannot find any threat level 2,3,4,6,7 or 8. Is this "working as intended" or has the idea of different ship encounters depending on threat level just been replaced with one RNG encounter?
So I get that an Unidentified SignalSource is very mysterious and all that but CMDRs pass so many of them while flying around the bubble they lose their charm during the first day of play.
Then there’s the grind of finding specific signalsources like HGE’s and Ecoded...
So my suggestion is a...
I remember seeing this on canonn and decided to give it a go for the T9. Blew it up several times, turned out that it drops nothing. Is this working as intended?
Are these new?
I dropped into a distress call the other night to find a Farragut under attack from a wing of Eagle pirates. A few moments later COVAS made some vague remark about detecting another capital ship warp-in.
Then the game promptly crashed.
DSS scan revealed many geological sites on planet Algol A1 (system Algol) and... one human signalsource, but this signalsource isn't listed among the planetary sites. What it can be? A hidden installation? Any ideas or clues?
And by the way there is also an unknown signalsource spawning near...
so lately I've been playing again and I've actually been enjoying myself quite a bit. the new threat level 5 signalsources and distress signals are quite fun and these ships have engineer mods aswell I mean i'm getting hit through my shields i'm getting overheated and seeing blue laser beams...
Is anyone else having problems with this? I received a spec ops mission to kill 27 traders. I then go to the location in the system where the objective is supposed to be. I detect the mission critical signs source, disengage into it from Supercruise and the game immediately “buzz”crashes to...
Ok so maybe this is a bug, but 45 minutes in this system and i am chasing a phantom signal, its a random system previously unexplored and i have dropped in and there was a ELW (ringed) so off i went to scan that.
then there was a landable very close moon with some interesting canyons and...
So, i have already read & made many posts about how the new FSS makes it much slower to get quick and honestly, quite important information, so that an explorer can judge if a system is truly notable and worth visiting.
However, while a loud minority HAVE complained, there hasn't been that many...
I was flying in supercruise in my local system, USS appeared. I targetted it, reveals it's a Distress Beacon (Threat 2). I drop in, one lone Diamondback, just sittng there motionless. He's generating chat dialogue that let's me know he's out of fuel.
"Awesome!" I say, "time to test out my new...
If signalsources resolved themselves immediately in your information panel, as mission specific signalsources do, instead of being "unknown" the mechanic as a whole would be vastly improved.
It's often stated that players should engage with the USS system 'organically' - thereby getting all...

I'm not going to switch my target just to find out the USS is garbage. Why can't the NPC do that? And here's another job the NPC can be doing instead of flying the SLF. In this way, they can accompany you in smaller ships as well.
