1.2 + DK2 = unplayable

Me too

Just want to pop in to say the 1.2 update broke my ability to use a Rift also. There's significant judder in supercruise, I think when entities load. Also during all forms of flight sometimes the headtracking will completely fail and snap back and forth repeatedly between two positions. Sometimes if I hold my hands over the Rift to block the IR emitters this problem disappears for a seemingly random amount of time. Sometimes a few tens of seconds, sometimes several minutes.

I was just talking to all my friends about how amazing it was that I could play Elite without getting simulator sickness even for hours a few days ago and now I'm ready to blow chunks after 15 minutes.

It's weird: I used to be able to play on max settings with my Titan, but yesterday evening I only had a judder free experience on low graphics settings. I have no idea what happened.

Since the Judder, at least for me, primarily happens in Supercruise and there even when approaching planets without rings: I suppose it's not an issue of GPU performance. After all: While I get the MOST judder the game has to render nothing but a single sphere and a few orbit lines. On the other hand I get no micro-freezes while I navigate inside of stations. So I suppose it's some other problem not directly linked to the actual system performance. (Well, as always: Maybe not for everyone, but at least on my system.)

Honestly, I'm surprised people aren't more vocal about how frustrating this is. I've got a buddy with a lower specced rig who has a judder free experience. On his recommendation, I bought a rift and ED. It's an incredible gaming experience but wow is it frustrating to drop $400 on entertainment that you spent 50% of your time trying to troubleshoot and the other 50% experiencing partially midst constant reminders of performance issues.

What were you expecting from a DK, beta software etc?

I didn't have the same experience than you guys, I was able to play 2 hours yesterday and all was fine, no more or less judder in station, same experience than previously. I7 3770K OC 4,4GHz, GTX970 slightly OC, all at max settings but no blur (light and movement) and no SuperSampling or DSR. Modifications are green HUD and use of SweetFX. Game could be slower and I possibly had see it if it don't had a Vsync ON, but t'il now I'm able to keep my 75fps, fingers crossed ;)

Same 347.52. I didn't install any 3D Nvidia stuff by the way, had problem with them. Also, plugging the power supply coming with the Rift helped, and swapping USB connection for both Rift and Cam helped (currently on 2 USB2.0 directly behind the computer case). Judder a lot on some station like at Sol system, no judder in the neighbor system Duamta at Polyenkov station for example. In space it's perfectly smooth . Took time before I found the equilibrium...
