So long as you do not play in VR you will be fine in windows 10. its a good OS and I am looking forward to getting on my gamign rig

That only applies if you dont update your catalyst drivers if you run AMD. I am having the supercruise issue and it makes the game unplayable since supercruise is where you spend most of the time in.

If you set your map controls, you can move the system map around and zoom in and out. If you scroll it up (so your cursor goes down) you'll then be able to click on the planet obscured by the text. Or click on a planet further to the right, then click on the planet you wanted to click on originally.

Work-rounds aside, selecting planets on the system map is clunky - and it shouldn't be. I'd like to see current distances on the map along with the existing data - that would make life easier for exploration.

Improvements to interdictions

Does this mean thumbs ready for mouth and baby bottles on standby ?

Nope, Elite runs fine on Windows 10. Back on topic: about 30 minutes to upgrade according to in-game broadcast message.

Cheers for the reassurance .. I'm still scared anyway of course, ED isn't ALL I do on this magic box.

Good luck with the imminent patch.

no, it is a known bug from 1.4, thrusters don't work if you press them up before you are released, now you have to press up after your released, and i have a t-flight x, and is the same for me.
The same applies to using the keyboard. It won't register a key press on the thrusters before docking clamps are released.

Maybe so but it wasn't there in 1.3.. I thought it was my Saitek stick crapping out again for the hundredth time. Yay, that saves me a trip to the shops until at least next week.. :D

By the time we get to 2.8 you'll have forgotten all about the the thrusters activating before release bug. In effect you could view the 1.4 change as a bug fix :) I use AS for vertical thrust when gear is down, the tophat does forward back left right.

Greetings Commanders...

Thanks,
Zac

It does seem a very short list

What about the other mining fix ----- the constant being booted from the game.
the Bulletin board missions that suddenly removed all the long range missions .

I'm just guessing
But it could be implemented to prevent accidental throttle/input causing unexpected takeoff? I mean the only disadvantage is you have to wait for release before applying thrusters?

If the user has a physical throttle, that would mean the throttle has to me moved the tiniest notch and it would apply immediately, which is awkward and pretty off-putting when working with a physical throttle or stick. But anyway I was talking also about thrust up, which should be the same both in HOTAS, gamepad and KB+M setups, a single button that you need to keep pressed, so you are never in an accidental "still thrusting upward" state.

Good luck with the imminent patch.

I just upgraded to WIN 10 and it works fine with E.D and ARMA3 and everything else on my system so far, Also WIN 10 has DirectX 12 which improves quality of gaming. I had to update one driver for an ASUS sound card that was all.

hell yes, I would personally like all the collision damage back from poor docking as well... Beta had fantastic docking mechanics before tractor beams steadied us in the letter box, and gripped our ship when close to the pad, and collision with the station meant near certain destruction, like in the 1984 game. ;)

I would also like some stations to not to support rotational correction computers (I am assuming rotational correction uses some form of communication with the station here - which iirc way back when this was actually stated as being a "thing", or the ability to network into docking computers at all places

Absolutely - have 'easy-dock stations' with all the above systems in the core systems, and outback systems where you need to have mastered manual docking before jumping into them - like airports have different levels of instrument landing systems.

Sudden and inexplicable changes in minor faction influence, systems governments not flipping when expected, and general 'background simulation' misbehaviour which is really scr**ing with Powerplay at the moment.

Okay thanks for the reply - so when people talk about the BGS (Background Galaxy Simulation), they're essentially referring to human politics/trade/conflict, or does it encompass more than that?

Update welcome but like many others - a very short list given the major issues that need fixing, e.g length of time to access bulletin board, the delay when entering/exiting FS. Development of future expansions is a must and is welcome but I feel Frontier Devs should be concentrating more on getting these outstanding issues fixed that rushing ahead with new expansions.

I don't want to be killing, but looks a little short to me compared to the patches we received in 1.1/1.2/1.3

- No Assault Ship Camera Fix?
- No Interdiction Fix?
- No Text Fixes?
... and many more?

Hmm...

Anyways, thanks for the Patch ;-) - but I really expected a Mega Patch to be honest!

There's waiting and there's "I'll go and cook dinner and be back for take off shortly... If the station doesn't destroy me first" :p
