1.5 update

So with Horizons coming to PC is there any more talk when it will come to Xbox? Early 2016, mid 2016, late 2016, etc?

Duke... for the Cutter? Come on.

That's just killed the game for me. It's taken me weeks of the most tedious missions to get to Count and the "grind" has got to me so much in the last week, I haven't actually played anywhere near as much as I've wanted to. The "grind for everything" system has really ran me down to the point that my playtime is at best an hour a day for the last 3 days.

On that timescale, I should get the Cutter when I'm 80.

I'm gonna pass. That's nuts.

Asp Scout, more powerful FDL, and Imperial Fighter are just a few of the things that have me excited.

Oh trust me I am excited for everything, despite horizons, but my tenth ship will be one of the bigger ships. Rather get the cutter, to make my conda to a mining ship and then the cutter for trade, but looks like it will be the corvette since I have the rank already and don't for the cutter.

Just a little help for the guys on cutter alert about to top themselves due to the rank grind.

Try Barangali it was spawning loads of donation missions and good midrange hauling 100ly ish at reasonable returns so you could rank up quickly and make cash on the side.

Feeling the same mate.
The game should have some more realistic goals.
I've played 1000s of hours since day one pre release and it has to be one of the most grind based games going to actually feel some kind of achievement.
I may be able to just grind the rank for the corvette but I only need one more rank and been grinding for it all week.
As for the cutter that's pretty much impossible the time it would take me.
Was hoping to get one or the other in basic form to start with but that's not gonna happen.
This ranking grind has pretty much nailed it on the head for me unless 1.5 actually some other stuff in it.
Horizons maybe the only thing to look forward to.

Was hoping for realistic missions Instead of just take this there, kill 20 pirates etc.

Thank God for Fallout 4 for some decent missions.

Really hate to moan after this game has given me so many months of enjoyment, just had enough of grinding in games right now.
Yes I can go and do stuff like different goals such as pirating, trading, mining etc.
Been there done that but now there are so many people flying condas and such picking on the little guy you have to grind to keep up.
CQC could have worked if it had somehow been incorporated into the game instead of a standalone setup.

I don't expect anything in the game to be handed to me on a plate. When you put your mind to it, though.

At a rough estimate, obtaining the required credits to purchase and A-Rate a Cutter, based on around 7mil/ hour earning rate in a T9 (In itself an expensive ship to start with - that's Grind #1!): is going to take you around 100 hours of back-and-forth'ing for pure profit. Any other method will take substantially longer.

Add in the time to Duke rank: Assuming that you can grind a couple of hundred RNG charity missions per rank, it's about 6 - 10 hours a rank at a station that spawns them, not forgetting the constant open/ solo switch you'll need to do to get that many. Let's say we meet in the middle at 8 hours. 8*12 = 96

That's 196 hours at best pace, one that will leave you to the trade grind and the mercy of yet more RNG: ascension missions, which may not appear for days at a time. If, like most of us, life commitments take us to a few hours a day at best, that will be over two months, at 3 hours a day, of relentless grinding to be able to use an in-game ship. Even at 6 hours a day, thats still over a month.

I hope I'm not the only one that see's a problem with this "grind for rank then grind for ships" debacle. It's already a huge grind for trading, which is just about palatable. Grind on a grind on a grind? Makes no sense. Now, imagine doing this at a leisurely pace or by slower methods; say, hauling runs of normal cargo. Saying it may take you a year to do at a leisurely pace wouldn't be a stretch.

Can anyone from FD confirm if the firegroup display bug will *finally* be fixed, please?

I came back to the game last weekend after taking what ended up being a rather long break for Destiny: The Taken King, to find that the firegroup display is *still* screwed, after however many months it's been :( I think it was GPP2 that broke it?

My main point is that the Fed and Imperial promotions dried up for me several months ago, and even after playing an additional 400 hours, all involving Fed and Imperial missions, I have not seen a single promotional opportunity mission.

Filed a bug report months ago when I suspected a problem, but nothing was ever done to check my account or the issue, which many others have also reported.

Oh well.

This is why I own a PS4 and a Wii U as well as an Xbox One. ;)

See you guys when Horizons comes to the XB1! :)

Yeah, I got that :) (and I've seen similar with Fed rank progression, although not with as many hours). I was just confused by the Alliance mention.

ark evolved...yeah people complain about griefing and grinding in this game. In Ark you can get killed and have your base destroyed while offline so you spend the bulk of your time rebuilding from the last time you logged out. 'hardcore' pvpers wait til their enemies are offline to raid. worst game design ever.

Good thing there's a solo mode like Elite. Also what you're describing is not a particular worry I have since I doubt it'll be as big on X1, I found alot of "why is this even coming to Xbox, survival game's are boring" comment's when I checked if any of my friend's were getting it. I'd wager the game will sell well, but many will not play long once they find out you need to actually survive by finding food, water, and fending off or running from predator's....oh and also keeping youself cool/warm on hot/cold day's or in place's with extreme climate.
