says who? your fun? or mine?
Well, he kinda asked about you and others saying that they need credits to have fun. So it is good question - at what lower level it becomes NOT fun?

at what lower level it becomes NOT fun?
I do that in My War Conda or Vette. Set them up to where they use little to no ammo or I have stuff to synthesis more. I only tag stuff that is Dangerous and higher. Are you not using a KWS? I get like 200k-300k per a conda. 200k for deadly-elite FDL's
Does flying a 1.8bn Imperial Cutter make the game any more fun than an 8m Imperial Courier?
Just to be clearThere, fixed it for ya.![]()

I don't know.Because I've never exploited or ground for credits, my total assets for 2.5 years of on/off play (more on than off) is just over 1bn. 210m of that is liquid for a ship purchase and I don't really want to sell any of my other ships. I can say I've been playing my way and mostly enjoying it. Now I'm starting to wilt a little and I'm a long, LONG way off getting a cutter or any other big 3 ship which would definitely be the new experience that my Elite adventure now needs. The Chieftain is tiding me over, but I hope I get the chance to have a proper crack at some exploit or other soon, cos I've done a lot of stuff I wanted to do int his game now, only thargoids remain largely untouched for me in terms of major content played. It;s not like I'm new or don't deserve it. Poor pacing. Sure, they have to allow for the fact that some people will grind. Let them. In other games, the devs let them, they just ensure that nothing meaningful is bought with credits alone (Elite has that in engineering, but there is room for more improvement).
So yeh, I don't know. Isn't that the point? How do I become worthy of knowing? Do you know? Is it more fun to fly a 1.8bn cutter than my super special ultra lightweight, rendered rather unimpressive by 3.0 engineering, 824mps fully armed Courier?
Answer> depends on the person!
fun varies, so does taste!
No, it isn't telling you how you should play, it is at best saying what he wants, and pointing out how Frontier has built the game, namely it isn't focused around the big three.Ok... This is your opinion right?!! because you sound like this is HOW WE SHOULD PLAY THE GAME.
Pardon me, but if it takes you a YEAR to get the CONDA because you play once a week, there is something wrong with that!
As I suspected; you just want an iWin button!
But that doesn't predclude me from getting my anaconda in 24hrs if I want. And it doesn't give you the right to say I'm wrong.
Here's a final thought for you; If it was so terrible and so bad for players gameplay, how come they flocked to it like flies to roadkill? You know the answer...![]()
A year! A YEAR !! Are you nuts? Who buys a game that'll take them a year to buy one of the top ships?
You say it's not about owning the big three! For me it is.
I've many many end game ships and I can state unequivocally there is no mid-range ship that comes close. Of course they're different! There's a reason they're the top 2 !
Python is a mid-range ship? In what way is it no different than a Corvette or Cutter?

So your taste demands flying a big ship then?![]()

That is not forcing anything on you, it is telling you the facts of the matter.
If you are not enjoying the game, or you do not like it, then it is you, who bought the game, and it is ultimately you, only you, that is responsible for your own actions.
Frontier didn't make a bad game simply because you dislike it, nor should they change it because there is something you want, they should only change it if they feel it is the right thing to do, and they should make the game they want to make. If or if not you like and enjoy it, that is on you, you are responsible for your own actions, not frontier, not anyone else.
And here's the thing, if you only play once a week, that is only 52 days of gaming in a year, lets be generous and say you play 12 hours on those days, then it won't take a year.
But if you play say 2 hours once a week? then yeah it can easily take a year, and that's not really the game's fault?
Should the game cater to those with lowest time available to play? you do realise that, those with a lot of time would then only get tired of the game faster? if they are able to get everything faster, and that isn't in the game's best interest either, or they would be a heck of a lot more powerful something the people with low play time simply wouldn't be able to compete with.
Heck as it is, low play time, can't really compete with high game time, but here's the thing, you shouldn't be trying to, you should be having fun, if you aren't.....don't play, play something you enjoy?
I never said I disliked the game.
Game shouldn't be about grinding to get A ship, should be about getting SKILLED in different areas with that ship you want. YES not ALL ships should be just available to you because you have the credits, this is why REPUTATION has been created and need it to acquire HIGH END ships. I don't get why people think that grinding for CREDITS is part of what FTD wants you to do.
I would rather spend time learning the MANY features of this game well, and getting good at them than getting good at grinding credits so that you can enjoy PVP for example. Time is to be spend in skills, and there lies the FUN not in endless CREDIT grinding but having the right tools to become GOOD AT IT!
at least that is IMO!
You're not wrong, but we can say it's against the spirit and/or intention of the game. You can tell because FDev said it was a mistake and stopped it.
That's not debatable.
Same reason that people use cheat-codes despite them ruining the balance of the game. Impatience, mostly.
Just about everyone here. If you were to play WoW, would you expect to have the best of everything in six months? If you played Eve would you expect to have the best stuff in six months?
Genuine question - you have the big three... what then? Is the game over for you?
Just wondering what it is that you enjoy about the game.
While a Python isn't up to the task, a good FDL will give even a Corvette trouble in PvP. It comes down to outfitting and preparedness... and the FDL costs less than the Python to outfit.
I mean, you can't prove a negative.... so reverse that. What are you doing in a 'Conda, 'Vette or Cutter that can't be done in a Python, FDL or Type-7?
You're running the same missions, attacking the same settlements, fighting in the same CZs, farming the same HiRez sites, trading the same goods, shooting the same thargoids, mining the same asteroids and 'exploring' the same stars.
The only thing I can think of that makes the big three necessary is muticrew. That's the only gameplay 'exclusive' to big ships.
The game advertises freedom to choose role and do whatever you want. I can understand a certain dare I say 'balance' but in the main, I should be allowed to do what I want.
There a huge difference between WoW and EWoW has content scaled to player level. E
does not. WoW has an endgame, E
does not.
I do have the big 3, and it is certainly not game over for me. It's only beginning. I can do/go whatever/wherever I want, when I want. If I see a mission to haul 700t of cargo, I can do it by just switching ships. If I want to explore I can choose which ship to do it in. If I want o pew pew, I can choose which ship I'm in the mood to fly. The only limitations are the ones imposed on me by FDev. That's my fun. It's not everyone else idea of fun, but I never dared to state how anyone else should play..
I can haul more in a Cutter than other ship in the game. I can go head to head against a wing of 3 Elites in a conda+, tougher in a Python. I'm no ace pilot. I Don't do PvP. Let's be clear I have about 5 or 6 Pythons all scaled for whatever.. Like wise Cutters and Vettes and COndas. I get my kicks from building ships to do whatever. I have a Cutter for exploration. (Who explores in a cutter?) This is all fun for me.
You can multicrew in a VultureJust saying...
Ive been honest, I just want to play my way and not have people tell me I'm wrong, and that their way is the right way.
