ANNOUNCEMENT 2.2 Your Input Needed - Passenger Tourist Destinations

Maybe some reporters would like to visit certain combat zones and some people would enjoy belts and belt clusters, others may want to take a peek view on some ground installations,...

I know its not tourism but has there been any word on passenger combat style missions, like dropping in a Special Forces insertion team behind enemy lines and then pulling them out while under fire - that kind of thing?

Suggested title: The Ashes of Gehenna

This moon orbits a ringed gas giant only 12 light seconds from the K class star. The surface temperature is 1333K which is almost exactly the temperature to melt Gold or evaporate Magnesium so it is hotter than many furnaces. It truly is like Hell in Dante's Inferno and so I used the word Gehenna to describe it. Gehenna means Hell, or any place of extreme torment or suffering and is a fitting noun for such an inhospitable location. Given the high temperature, it could be where a phoenix is born from it's own ashes and so I call it "The Ashes of Gehenna".
The red stone mountains offset the gas giant (Abaddon) in the background and since the moon is tidally locked to the planet, Abaddon will appear to stay in the same place against the view. The moon orbits in the plane of the rings, and so will also experience darkness as it passes into eclipse behind Abaddon every 1.4 days.

Hi everyone!

We have the passenger gameplay coming as part of the 2.2 release, and there’s one aspect we’d like your input with. One of the reasons for passengers travelling is tourism, so we’re building a database of tourist locations in human space and beyond for the passengers to visit. We know that you’ve visited wonderful places and discovered some great sights, so we’re calling on you to post the place that you’d like to visit if you were a tourist.

To submit your suggestion you should provide the following information in a single post in this thread:

• Location name (this should include system name, body name and lat/long if the location is on the surface).
• A screenshot of the view.
• Your Commander name – this will be used as a location selected by, if it’s used.

The entries selected will be included in game, although we may not use them all for the initial release.

This thread is for submissions only, please do not conduct discussion in this thread to make it easier for us to keep track of submissions.

If there are multiple submissions for the same location then we’ll attribute the Commander who first suggested the location in this thread.

Moderator edit (sorry Michael) : If you wish to discuss this thread in general, please here. There is a separate thread for general discussion about passenger missions here:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ing-2-2-Passenger-Tourist-Destinations-thread

Edit: Feel free to include a travel guide suggestion with your submission - there won't be a separate thread for this.

Thanks!

Michael

Hi Michael

As a casual player (time constrained) I depended on the occasional smuggle from Maia and occasionally Sothis to get A rated upgrades or just a few more million in the bank. I never made these massive runs that some talk about but they already have an Anaconda etc. These smuggling runs allowed me to get from a Cobra to an ASP and one CG allowed me to get a Python. The passenger missions are cool but nerfing the smuggling and pushing people towards this is not for everyone. I did a passenger mission last night and brought the guy to his destination and back but couldn't complete the mission. I couldn't eject him until i swapped in a cargo rack..very frustrating especially when I have time restrictions it was a wasted 600 lightyear trip for nothing along with the time spent.

I would ask you reconsider unerfing the outside the bubble missions and ask who are you catering for, it seems to be the guy who can play 60 hours a week with no job. I would ask you think about the player who has limits on play time but equally loves them game as much as the next guy. I would also recommend buffing missions across the board.

The Black Diamond
Tourist Location: EOCH FLYUAE BQ-P E5-1179
Bodies: EOCH FLYUAE BQ-P E5-1179 A, EOCH FLYUAE BQ-P E5-1179 B

Twin Neutron Stars set between Colonia and the last outpost in the Colonia Connection. There is also a S Class giant, EOCH FLYUAE BQ-P E5-1179 D in the system.
I'm sure it would make a great tourist AND scientific destination.

EARTH-LIKE MOON

During my last trip back to Colonia I found an earth-like moon, in a binary system. It's quite rare, at least is the only one I saw in my exploration career ([woah]). It's Voqua MF-L d9-189 A 2 A, moon of the second planet of the main star. It orbits a terraformable HMC world.

It's quite far away, but certainly a great destination for a billionaire...

Incredible view of 3 nebulae and the milky way.
The Witch Head, Running Man, and Orion nebulae are all visible from this planet. Barnard's loop is also somewhat visible but partially obscured by Orion's nebula.

RUNNING MAN SECTOR CQ-Y D16, Planet A1 on the dark side. You get this view:
