Patch Notes Update 2.3 Beta 1.01 Changelog

Nothing changed since the first 2.3 beta, so I have to ask:

The "camo" skin color is not intended, is it?

I'm not running the most recent nVidia drivers for my 970, but I prefer to ask whether others have experienced similar problems before changing that since everything else runs fine at the moment https://www.bronies.de/images/smilies/twilightsmile.png

PS: I still want to be able to have a 6-color rainbow hairstyle and red eyes. I suppose extending the possibilities of the creator is not top priority, but I'd aooreciate to get the possibility sooner or later as I want to make my character's appearance match her actual look as close as possible https://www.bronies.de/images/smilies/dealwithit.png

Ooops, someone had an srv accident and ended face down in one of those mud geysers that the tourists like to frequent.

Yes, the fix is to update the drivers to the latest ones.

Confirmed. Everything looks right now. Just did the update with some hassles like installer freezing up because I forgot to uncheck the 3D Vision stuff... that's probably why I don't update my drivers so often

The most interesting part of the update is multicrew, the vanity camera is the least interesting.

Maybe one day when they expand on it, but in the current design, beside a few very specific ships, the multicrew is just a proof of concept to mess around with for a day or two, and then forget about it (or exploit in multiaccount for the extra pip).

We reduced the influence on exploration rank from the expedition passenger missions, but there's not been any major changes to payouts.

noob question here.

Is there an updated laucher too? Having the "failed to read from response stream" message just as download completes

Have had this problem myself in the past, here's the official support page for it. It works.

The alternative download method can work but if you do have to remove .part and .progress files (as one of the next steps in the support page) imagine you'll need to search for those in the beta folders obviously.

Good luck o7

There shouldn't be any influence at all. I don't get my passport stamped with Peru simply by driving a coach load of passengers to London twice.

Yeah, but you definitely get some rep if you do tours on your yacht to some forgotten places in the dark corners of earth.

Thank you for the statement Micheal, but reports from beta indicate a reduction of the payouts by 90% to a remaining 10%, especially for sightseeing and long range missions:

Could you please check and verify?

Passenger missions fans are concerned, that these missions are no longer worth doing.

Hi Frontier! Thanks for your great work!

I know maybe it's not the right place to ask, but are there any plans to improve the antialiasing in the game? Maybe a temporal algorythm or something?

Currently the only decent way to reduce aliasing is supersampling, but it's very taxing on performance :(

Yes, its important, especially for VR.
Elite is only one game where AA is working so badly. Temporal AA could help.

I agree, however a quick fix for it is you can get Reshade 3.0 (VERY easy to install) and apply better AA to the game then built in one. Its not Temporal but you can adjust it to make it stronger. Just a thought.

I had some flickering in the Galaxy Map, when. I was scrolling around above the galactic plane, and it would flickering on and off at certain angles. I'm running ED 64 bit. I am also noticing some graphical errors in how the NPC player faces are displayed, it looks like they are missing some of their face. Very T1000 ish.

To make it slightly more popular among who doesn't own one of the big bads, they probably should add a seat to the Keelback (finally giving it a purpose)

Thanks for the advice, but sadly it does not help :/ Seems like it's required to make changes in the rendering engine of the game to improve the quality. Maybe even HUGE changes... So I am afraid it will to be available soon :/

Unfortunately, E: D is about the worst case scenario for aliasing artifacts. There's a lot of very detailed geometry and it tends to be repeating (like grates and such).

Temporal AA would be a huge improvement, but for now the only real solution is to use Super Sampling. Try 2x SS in the game graphics options, but it will seriously reduce your framerate, unless you have a powerful GPU.

Another thing they can do to expand a little the scope of the feature, is to allow a solo ship owner to switch to gunner (like it virtually can do with the fightercon).
However i admit that it would still be of marginal use on most ships. Still would like it to remove the multiplayer-only from this feature.
