Patch Notes Update 2.3 Beta, Update 3

Nice to see the smaller ships DBX and Scout receiving some much needed love.
Especially the scout. (Who actually flies it?)

The DBX could be a contender to the aspx and I will certainly put it through it's paces.

did they get rid of the silly turbo blowoff sound when jumping... first time i heard it i thought my ships mechanic broke something. lol

but seriously, its silly. please make it go away.

So people will stay in the Sidewinder until they earn enough Credits to buy the biggest ships? Comical.

This happens now. People skip entire classes of ship because the progression through them is based on pre 2.0 mechanics

Not sure if uninformed, or just trolling. Either way, not going to argue the point as is off topic. Fly safe. o7

This raised a chuckle - stubborn old space tourists.

Great list of fixes - thanks for the hard work.

In other news, I'm sad to see VR users still don't get to use huge parts of the camera suite functionality - no zoom, focus, DOF.. weeps.

the stubborn old passangers should now hopefully be an end of the troubles

Ozric;5281289Isn't the point of smaller ships to be a compromise? Now you have a ship that is 1/6 the price of the Asp able to fit all the things people say you [B said:
need[/B] to do exploration, plus it gets made lighter so it's already huge jump range gets even larger.

You fully well know that decently specced out AspXs are not 6x more expensive than a decently specced out DBX. Its a cheap argument and you know it.

Depending on the weight loss it will be a vast improvement across the board. You are asking for a fundimentally redesign, not a small bunch of changes. Let's see what the weight reduction brings first.

It's okay to have incremental change. The alternative was "nothing", by the way.

A single slot buffed by 1 size class and a little (10% would already be enough) better heat handling already counts as fundamental redesign ? Changing core modules, like increasing the powerplant in size, now that would be fundamental. And with the Orca now firmly getting the role of long range high jumprange ship, the Beluga didn't need a mere weight decrease all that much.

I said nothing about specced out, I was talking about the cost of the ship. Although I was rounding the numbers, which was wrong, I imagine it's more like 1/5.
