Neither in 3.x for that matter. Who brought up this space legs thing to surface recently? It is confirmed that it won`t be in 3.x, meaning not in 2017 and it is also said that it is not a priority feature.
Has this been said? First I've heard of it.

If you were paying attention, he prefers "David" and you may be overlooking some of the benefits bestowed by HRH when she awards you an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire [OBE].
Two more level ups to Knight Commander and you're obliged to use "Sir David Braben". Peasant.
CQC seemed to be an attempt to appease the pew-pews. Having played many other games with a similar feature that never, ever gets used despite people begging and offering bribes in the global chat channels, it seems like wasted time.
The pew-pews don't seem to want a toe to toe, fair and balanced deathmatch with other pew-pews. What they do seem to want is to gank those trying to mind their own business and get some kind of sadistic pleasure from being yelled at?
Is this a second child, any attention is good attention, even if I'm being beaten because the only way I get any is being naughty mentality? Or, is it a product of parents that prefer to give their children a daily chemical lobotomy tablet?
If you find a bug you have a choice. Either poke it to find the most effective way to exploit it then share such cheats with all the other impatient cheats on youtube or, report it so the issue can be remedied and the game is playable as intended.
Those issues not discovered, or actively covered up to be exploited later by the Alpha and Beta testers do sometimes slip through into the live system, of course. FDev do what they can to avoid this, but there's a lot more players than dev's.
You could try HELPING THEM make it better instead of being a disrespectful jerk?
I couldn't be more inaccurate if I tried.
Your assessment of CQC is laudably humorous. I couldn't be more inaccurate if I tried. It suffered the same fate as every other feature. It was dumped out in the cold with no connection to the main game or significant ties to other features and left half-finished to waste away when people got bored of it after 10 hours of the same repetitive play. It hasn't seen any significant improvements since release. People who were interested have played it to death and want new experiences. The end. People who don't play it want it to be relevant to the rest of the game. The end.
Yep. While it could use some QOL improvements I really like CQC. Haven't gone near it for a long time because I can rarely find a match.Just on this point, the reason I and many others don't play CQC is simply that we can never get a game. Now some of the reasons for that might be as you describe, resulting in fewer players, but you've overgeneralised a bit here. The reason many of us don't play is simply because no-one else is, not because of wanting a new experience or wanting it to be relevant to the game. Which is why Frontier should have included bots as many of us suggested from the start. Other than that, I think it's fine as an approach, being disconnected from the main game (apart from credits earned and stupid rank that carry over of course) - it was only meant to appease PvPers given that PvP is not the principal focus of the main game. PvPers wanted better, more accessible PvP, Frontier gave them a nice, balanced arena to play in (similar to other online arena-based shooters in concept) but that wasn't good enough.....for a variety of reasons such as not being able to use one's own ships but also in part because there's a significant proportion of players who aren't in the least interested in fair, balanced fights. Plus the impact of matchmaking across a P2P approach. The reasons for CQC's lacklustre participation rate are more complex than you suggest, in my opinion. But I do agree that it's also largely been ignored apart from being used in livestream events......if they just added bots and did nothing else it would get a lot more use I believe (at least from casuals). If they also added some canned scenarios like one side attacking a capital ship or base defended by the other side and the like, then it would also have more variety.

Population problems start when there is no population. It's not like the expansion of the universe. It's not a matter of the same number of players being there but not being able to reach each other because they've somehow grown more distant. The other players left, that's why you can't find them anymore. They don't exist. They're no longer players.
It's the last mohicans that get the "can't find a match" syndrome which leads them to abandon the game. Everyone else left long ago.

And yet, you're still here, terrorising the remaining population into SOLO or out of the game completely. Have you watched the recent live streams and wondered why the devs aren't having any fun either? If you really hate this game that much have you considered finding one you do like, or maybe you should seek some professional help?
Everyone out of the water, let the shark starve and maybe it will go away.
Not exactly. Nowadays the players I know who still partake in CQC do it in groups. They set a time and go in together. It isn't optimal but it is also not as you describe.
Glad to see my reputation precedes me.
They should have made it an entertainment area in the ED universe. A star system geared up for ship and SRV based entertainment. Are we thinking that in a real universe there wouldn't be whole systems just for entertainment be it touristic, entertainments or getting a suntan.
They could have had a proper CQC setup, bring your own ship, borrow one, buy one just designed for CQC, team events, Teams vs bot armardas. Capital ship attacks , capture the flag King of the hill , all the usual online game types.
SRV race tracks stunt tracks like giant skate parks, treasure hunts, so much more could be achieved.
PVP and PVE alike shoulder to shoulder instead of at loggerheads.
Takes pride in the misery of others huh, Nice. And your boss thinks it's a good idea to sit behind your workstation, trolling the forums while they're paying you to do something else?
Isn't it around lunch time in the colonies? Take a well earned break.
constructive criticism
Which of these two words did you fail to look up in the dictionary before using it?
To gratify or indulge (an immoral or distasteful desire, need, or habit or a person with such a desire, etc.).
the analysis and judgment of the merits and faults of a literary or artistic work.
Both. I'm quite capable of speaking english and don't require being reminded of grade-school definitions daily.
So let's review pandering since you seem to be fond of the act, while conveniently forgetting why you wouldn't want to engage in it.
By pandering, you perpetuate a person or entity's self-destructive behavior and encourage them to behave badly.
Meanwhile, when criticizing....
Doing so constructively simply means providing relevant feedback such as suggestions for improvement, it does not mean coddling the poor victim into complacency with praise. It does not mean speaking positively during your criticism and indeed speaking approvingly while offering criticism that is in poor favor is counter-productive, because you're sending mixed messages when you're intending to communicate a clear disapproval.
Constructive criticism is not positive criticism. Pandering is not constructive. However, keep rolling on. Your Egotism is something else entirely that's very entertaining.
Helps to make your own schedule. Today I'm the boss, and as a figure of self-appointed authority I'm going to advise you to at least inform yourself of how time zones work before you attempt to apply smarm over the internet. You're making your monocle-bearing brethren look bad.
I only criticize games I like. Without constructive criticism they just stagnate and repeat the same mistakes until they fail. Keep up the bootlicking though, I'm sure that feedback is going to prove very useful.
