wonder if they fixed the spawning in maia issue and the new flower ship encounters.....starting to think those might not have, at least the maia one for sure, meant to be available. I'm been trying to get a distress signal to see this for myself.

I wish the nameplates were free, however I do like the fact that without one nobody knows my ship name, kind of like a ship at sea.
However, you would think we would have an optional transponder that would broadcast our name and ship name, that we could turn on and off like a wing beacon...

sooo, i can't access holo-me from the ship status panel anymore, nor the engineers tab ?
Is it really only 32 Asteroid bases throughout the Galaxy. Or is that number not counting the ones in the deep black?

Quick Question....PLEASE tell us that the station "FREEHOLM" in the "ARTEMIS SYSTEM" (from Mike Brookes' excellent book "Elite:Legacy") has finally been changed to a new "Asteroid Station". This has been a sadly missed detail in the Artemis system actually portraying the system described in Mike's book. Here's hoping.....will have to go look...... hope we're not disappointed!!
P.S. I asked Mike nearly 14 months ago whether Freeholm would ever be properly portrayed in-game as in-book....he said.."perhaps one day".... or was it "Soon!"

I'm curious about the audio engine updates.
A while back the newsletter mentioned a John De Lacie add-on which sounded (sorry) awesome. But it turned out to be a voice attack add-on which I assume mean I would need to talk to my computer to get the benefit.....I have no interest in doing that so I left it.
So....Does the new audio method create a platform for "in-game" vessel voice packs that can be applied in a similar fashion to weapon colours? That would be awesome

Just a quick observation SHIP NAMES.
I have named all my 5 ships but notice that the names do not appear in the stored ships selection. Only a small thing but if you have two or more of the same ship, combat asp, mining asp etc it might be nice to be able to select quickly by name and not have to scan down the equipped items to identify.

Hard to say, but they can now drop them in at will without a patch, so may add more at any time. Also brings up prospect of them being able to destroy them at will too...

There's one in Artemis, only about 70Ly from Sol.
When you're talking US$30 to AU$200, that's not an exchange rate issue, though he's figured out that it was for a lifetime pass.

I am absolutely impressed with the improvements "under the hood" the most.
Well done to the whole team, I can't thank you enough for all of this, truly a big well done and I love it - most of these improvements are quality of life improvements, simply because they fix so many problems, let alone adding more content where it concerns avatars and multiplayer.
- Audio is vastly improved in all shapes and form, and is better optimized for everyone's CPUs
- Shadows on planets have, hopefully, been fixed of their many shadowy bug bears.
- Stations, it seems, may no longer cause us stuttering issues on approach.
Also, great work on the Discovery Scanner upgrades provided by the Engineers (and an increase of credits to all discovery data) - oh, and the optimized physics for Supercruise... I can only take it that Supercruise will feel much more faster now than previously? If so, long range Detailed Discovery Scanners could be amazing at saving time (less time to scan upgrade sounds logical to go for, but you'd need to be closer to planets, so that would only slow you down in Supercruise).
I'm now wondering if the ??? and ??? "Megaships" are actually alien ships.

The SRV's horizon aligned turret yaw is just goddamn annoying because you have to fight the muscle memory you build up by playing every other game with vehicle turrets EVER...
