Patch Notes Update 2.3 The Commanders - Changelog

First calm down and then learn the game.
Take a Python to land on outposts. This ship can get a large amount of cargo with the right fitting an it can land on outpost!

Umm, misquote methinks? I was talking about adjusting NPC difficulty based NOT on the players' loadout/progression, but rather on the place/situation.

While the patch in general seems to work quite well, I do hope we get another one before the weekend to resolve the most annoying bugs that make player's lives difficult. For me it is the System/Galaxy map info overlay offset issue that should be resolved. I'm guessing everybody has there own "favorite" bug they would like to see gone ASAP.

I feel like it's such , that most cool updates are Horizons only exclusives. Basically, they're selling a warping simulator and ask for extra 20 euro to enjoy the whole thing. They're milking all they can milk.

It shouldn't be either. It should be location and situation based. Ditto for missions and payouts.

Basically high-paying missions or the most profitable trading-runs should take you into more dangerous systems, low-paying missions take you to safer systems. It'd be up to you do decide whether to take on the high-risk missions in your current ship, or whether you first need to upgrade a bit.

Mission-specific NPCs should be ranked and outfitted according to the mission, all other NPCs according to the system (and perhaps surrounding systems) you're currently in, taking into account factions, economy, political state, etc etc. Pirates would then decide to attack you not only on whether or not you have any cargo, but also on how desperate they are and what chances they have against you.

Anyway, we can dream..
Good points. I like those ideas.

Just yesterday, I was almost interdicted again, with an empty cargo ship and no missions active. That stresses me out. If we at least could get that if you have no missions and no cargo, look, there's nothing here to get. I can't drop the cargo for them to pick up if I got none. Urgh.

why all combat missions are illegal?

I am working for empire, but all "combat missions" which they offer to me are ILLEGAL! why omfg?!
It's probably because of which station you're getting the missions from. I do a lot Imperial missions too, and I've had legal combat missions (just did one yesterday for the Navy rank up).

why all combat missons has higher rank?
That's because they will increase your combat rank by beating them.

which kind of ship can transporst 132 items to outpost?!!!!!
Python can be outfitted to do 132. I have 128 in mine, and still have SRV and other things in the slots. Python for the WIN!!! It's the best ship, in my opinion in the game. A superb multipurpose.

IS THIS GAME ONLY ABOUT GRINDING?!
And combat. Unfortunately. But yeah, it's some serious grinding in this game. It took me a month to finally get to Duke, so I just got an Imperial Cutter. Woot! During that time, I neglected work and had no life. No. Not quite, but I did spend a lot of time.

Horizons IS THE GAME!

Be grateful they are still allowing those who can't afford the modest update price to keep playing without it! (Mac users accepted)

Sheesh!

How much does the PC upgrade cost now? If you are playing on PC, the upgrade cost is Chump Change compared to most game's DLC prices today. Complaining about where the features are being focused is about as tone deaf as you can get!

windows 10 is no longer a free upgrade so people who are on lower (xp through win 8.1) have to pay a lot of money and go through a lot of hassle just to play one game - even before you get into buying hardware. maybe they have xp because windoze wouldnt accept the hardware they have? maybe they couldnt get enough together in a time of austerity/recession to upgrade before microsoft made win 10 pay only. just because you are rich dont denigrate those less fortunate for having other priorities on their limited fiunds than being fleeced by microsoft and the hardware makers to play one game.

I got a question about the stations in rings and asteroid fields. Were they just added in the bubble, like we just got more bases ontop of the original ones(like in horizons)? Or are some old bases now placed in rings etc?
(I am NOT talking about asteroid bases btw I know those exist too)

I think he's under the impression that you need Windows 10 for Horizons. You don't, you just need a 64bit OS. I guess for people running 32 bit Windows 7 the free Win 10 upgrade was perfect and if they missed it then yeah ... a Windows upgrade will cost.

A wall of text in the changelog and yet the update is shallow and basic in its content. Not counting the bugs.

The game doesn't need Win 10
"OS: Windows 7/8/10 64-bit"

Rewards for Mid-distance trading and hauling missions appear to have been seriously reduced. The past day I've logged thru mission lists on open and solo in my system a number of times, and even though I am allied to the factions, none of the hauling/trading missions are much over $500K.

That's after months of being able to find at least 1 or 2 missions worth 1-1.5 or even 2 million credits pretty much every time I went into the mission list.

This is going to make the game seriously grindy for me.

It could also be a momentary glitch. I noticed with the previous update, as well as this one, that the ports I was at that had plenty of missions, now suddenly have 0/0. The same happened in 2.2 update and then after a week or two it seemed to get back to normal. Maybe the mission servers just fall behind or something.

Mysterious things added
I got it!
These are:
•Repairing Advanced discovery scanner can prevent it from being reactivated
•Attacking wanted ships may cause player to get a bounty
•Refinery saying it’s full when it isn’t, causing limpets to go idle
•Target reticle area maybe missing on certain weapons
- these things mysteriously made it past QC and beta.
