Well, besides the new bugs of which there are many so far, I would like to say, removing the mission stacking was fine, and as for increasing the number of missions to the board, that's fine for the systems that are in such states that there were no missions or very few, but again, very poor balancing job....the systems that did not have such issues are now flooded with well over 100 missions per board view and in the cases of massacre pirate missions, the pay seems to have increased as well and in certain systems where there are numerous pirate factions the balance of these missions is now terrible as in picking on only one faction....more importantly though is that with this many missions, even though you can't count 1 kill towards all missions it is seriously making these systems a target to the folks that are wanting easy money. With over 100 missions, you get 20 missions at 8 to 11mil per mission in 20 seconds....and even though some may view this as very time consuming, there are numerous systems where to kill over 700 pirates in a couple hours is very easy to do...making this again easy money at an easy 110mil an hour and only 1 minute or less on the mission boards to get it....
The balance for faction states seems to be thrown out the window with having every mission type available, again this makes numerous systems targets for the money makers again, which for some also seriously affecting the BGS.
Perhaps its time to raise the IQ of the NPC's once again to the level they were once at when engineers was released, so they aren't sitting ducks for the easy money??

And whilst I am here , would someone please either kill or transport Darnell Sims......seriously....this is the absolute worst missions board balancing you have done so far Fdev......balanced to be substituted with flooded...

To add to that, I will say once again what I have said a few times before about the missions boards....
When a system has few or no missions.....I have yet to see this as a bug
to the newbies, you have stuff to learn and figure out
There is a very high probability that the missions are in such states due to the local system and/or factions states, realize this and figure out what needs doing to get the factions to offer jobs, its that simple.
Complaining and then having Fdev do what they just did to the missions is not/was not any kind of solution, it is now ridiculous and FWIW, the game is not about making the max amount of credits per mission or per hour.
I for one am extremely disappointed in the resulting flood of missions to the boards and the following flood of cash makers now available.

So far I'm loving everything I'm seeing. It's like Elite is turning into a hybrid of Frontier and Eve what with all the interesting and diverse mission giving NPCs. I'm still kind of hoping that one day they do some voice over work for incoming transmissions from NPC ships and the station NPCs.

Patience is the key :)

Then go play No Mans Sky For flips sake. Stop complaining. This is a great game, and its getting greater every update. Its very, very easy, choose and just be less vocal about it.
Agree. Different games for different concepts. ED is a particular concept. Not all games can be all things. I love NMS for the planet, 1st person, walking around, discover part, but the space flying is terrible. Love NMS planet side, but hate it in space. For ED, flying a space ship in a whole galaxy. Amazing. But no atmo planets, no walking around, oh, well, like you said, when I feel like that, I switch to the game that has it.

Only things I'd like to have in ED now, ... hmm... have to think. I guess nothing super serious. Atmo planets perhaps and more types of land vehicles. Personally, I don't think adding space legs will make it better. Space legs might even ruin the VR play, I think.

So play the game the fits your mood.

I'm very tired of your "mysterious and exciting things". We need a new gameplay. We need new opportunities. Have you accidentally forgotten that the season is called "horizons"?
My understanding is that there are big overhauls coming now after 2.4. It feels to me like 2.4 The Return was to close up the chapter of letting the cat out of the bag. Now the Thargoids are here. Now they're going to focus on other things. I read somewhere that Exploration will get some major enhancements.

What I'd like to see happening is more of system of dialogue with the NPCs at stations, passengers, crew, etc, like other games where you have a choice of response, and depending on it, you are led somewhere else. Basically, more complex threads of missions. Not just take it or leave it choices. This would require a major addition to the whole game though, and I'm not sure there's anything in their engine to support it.

Strange things going on since Update to 2.4. Did a mission today for hunting a pirate.
After being back in station and requesting reward the amount has been substracted and not added !!!

Think it is better not to go for pirate hunting otherwise I will get bankrupt very soon.

Has someone else seen this strange art of calculating?

Haven't heard anyone, but perhaps it's related to another bug right now where some missions (pirate missions too I think) are paid in trillions of credits and given years to finish.

Did another hunt. Everything is fine. Money is added.
Have no idea what went wrong with mission before. Will have an eye on my next missions.

i know they changed the way missions work in this undate but now all im being left with is mining/extraction missions or ones that want me to fly 22,000 light years to colonia area.
am in HIP 10716 was doing data runs between here and WU GUINAGI getting rep up trying to build imperial rank up, but unless all i want to do in extract or donate the mission have all but gone. is this the norm now as i dont want to just mine or take 3 weeks due to limited play time flying 22,000 light years.
any help or advice or do i just give up now.

I wager that with the changes to missions, the old sites for ranking up are no longer 'valid' as such and that we'll have to go around, lookin' for new places to rank up at. Try some other locales and keep an eye/ear open on the forums for other folks who are doing the same thing? :p

I'm confused...I have no idea whether I've been updated.

I don't recall a major download. I see nothing in the client/launcher, or in the main game, or on Steam that lists a version number.
And I don't see an explicit download link on the website.

So how the Hades do I know whether I have it or not?

I bought Horizons a while back; I'm assuming that means that a 2.0 isn't unreasonable to assume, and I'd probably have to buy the next expansion (whenever it's released) to be at 3.0...and I would assume that 2.4 comes with 2.0 (or maybe I'm just being silly).
Or maybe 2.4 isn't part of an expansion at all, and it's just part of the base game, and everybody has it.

It's not made clear. How do I tell?

The livery screen is very different.
That's the most obvious one I think, visually.

You should have "ELITE DANGEROUS: HORIZONS (64-BIT)" in the list of products at the bottom of the launcher. If it says "PLAY" to the left, then 2.4 is installed. If it says "UPGRADE" then click on it to, er...upgrade. Anything else and something weird has happened.

2.4 is included as part of the Horizons season, yes.

ok, As an old person with presbyopia I am not a fan of the pale white lettering for station text in the comm panel. I understand differentiating station messages from other stuff,, but pale white is not the right color choice.

Spent today playing 2.4 and at the start i had 97% in the Empire's rank system, by time of posting this i had reach 100% and no message saying i had increased in rank and it has been 100% for at least 4 hours. I do not know if this is a patch problem or not ??

Ah. Well, then I guess it's there, then.

Thank you. :)
