2 hours wasted.

Just did a 2 hour tritium mining session when the server threw me out. Logged back in (solo) and instantly had 3 hostiles appear right on top of me. No scan, no nothing, just boom.

That's ridiculous.

And please don't say "it's called Elite Dangerous" cos I already ing know that.

Sorry, but I couldn't resist.

Mining in a 5c bi weave T9. Dunno what ships. was over too fast. Just 3 red diamonds. Was in solo, all pips to shields. Was dead before FSD charged.

bad guys always spawn when you log into or enter a ring system if you have cargo they will attack, the lesson being if you are disconnected as soon as you log in get the hell outa the starting position

Strange, you should be able to get out in a shielded T9, even with shields down the hull can take some severe damage before exploding.

This. If mining I always wait until they see I am empty then they sod off.

Don't fly paper ships, and this doesn't happen.

I mine in a 3000 mj shielded Corvette and I laugh about pirates, NPCs or CMDRs alike.

I wouldn't call that ship paper. Never had 3 npcs appear within weapons range. Would have been ok if I hadn't been kicked in the first place.

They don't always spawn. It's just a roll on the random encounter table whenever you exit supercruise in a location, be it a belt or planet. Some of the are pirates, some bounty hunters, some security and often enough, nothing at all. Makes little sense when you're logging in, however. There shouldn't be a random encounter on log-in.

I was trying to. That's SOP. My FSD didn't get a chance to charge.

Did you wake out?
Yes: you had such a cardboard build that could not withstand the pressure. Needs more protection and less cargo.
No: why not?

Did you boost away from your login location?
Yes: then surely they could not immediately attack you, even more time to fsd the fock out of there. Copy paste previous outcomes here.
No: well, you should. Every instance refresh gives you a bunch of npcs in the rings. Prepare for that.

It's hard to imagine NPCs immediately opening fire (let alone, already being there) the moment you log in, without scans, etc. Been dodging NPCs for quite some time (especially during early borann), and this never happened, even in open, where entering existing instances is possible.
