23810 Prototype wrecks - WIP

Thread Closed: Not open for further replies.
I'm collecting all the information about these wrecks in a single thread, for now it is just Work in Progress..

It looks like there is wrecks of this space -object- everywhere in the bubble, yet there is no known reference to it. It appears in the for of USS named "Encoded Emissions Detected" or "Degraded Emissions Detected" ranging from threat 0 to 2 (pending of proof). Apparently there are different parts of a structure that does not reassemble a space ship and has the particular tag id: "23810" with an additional number indicating either a sub-module or the prototype number. The messages recorded from these wrecks clearly indicate it is doing an experiment with hyperspace technology, whether it is present or past is unknown yet.

As it is not yet known if the different parts are sub-modules or different ships, I'm going to assume they are modules for now. Currently the maximum number of modules identified is 8 (might be more), however not all modules have been found as some of the wrecks do not include a number at all. The only thing that is included in all the wrecks is a 'private data beacon' and a part of the prototype that looks like a tubular octagonal-shaped module.

Some of the wrecks include a message receive after scanning the private data beacon. Some of these messages seem to follow an order. One of the data beacons does not send any message, however voices can be heard when getting closer to the beacon. Link to the sound file recored by Swep in one of the beacons: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zkc66z9t944jhn8/destroyed_outpost.wav?dl=0

Additionally, some of the messages containing letters enclosed in brackets [ ]. I assume these parts of the messages are Data you gain when scanning the beacon and the brackets are not casual.

Overall prototype information

The prototype seems to be manufactured by the acronym PFM and the reference number is: AG9-24

Another unknown reference to a tag can be found in some of the modules, with the ids: 23 - FH 32 SPEC - M64

Additional tags found in the module 3:

Some of the modules also have another tag that can be related to some of the mining factories found in some planets, but has at least been spotted close to the norh pole of Maia B 1 C:

@crushdept (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=252932&p=4075366&viewfull=1#post4075366) pointed out it could be a device or ship that can hack into the FSD drives and potentially disrupt jumps or maybe even generate ones. While this may be true, there is no evidence of something altering the current FSD jump information and there messages confirm unusual or unknown signals for ships entering the system or the surroundings of the prototype.

What can you do to help
If you happen to find one of these USS, and it either has a different message or is not listed here, uploading pictures of the numbers, the shape of the debris and the message would be great to keep completing the missing bits.

Nice collection. FD has introduced wreck models for new ships, before the actuall ship model in the past. It's good to keep a eye on stuf like this.

Thanks for this. I've seen a few different ones, I didn't capture all the text, but anyway in some sort of order:

* "Unknown ship detected" (someone else reported this, not me). And I've had:

--
Priority FSD telemetry log
Generated [FSD telemetry archive]...
Invalid data connection detected...
Transmission failure...

--
* "System override detected".
* "Invalid FSD checksum" (a bad checksum indicates that the FSD data has been modified or corrupted).

Together these were what suggested something is hacking in - an unknown ship detected, a data connection established, the system being overridden (the most scary bit!), and the FSD data being changed. Looking at the ones you've captured above - it kind of sounds like whatever ship/thing dropped in was not one of ours.

I think it is related to the unkown dbx tagged as S6: 7, but I'm still looking for something to confirm it.

I've seen 23810-07, it was on a large "corridor" piece with 3 sections, as if part of a regular octagon.

I didn't keep a record of the message, i'm afraid.

Just checked the Merope's outpost location, there is nothing here now (OP said it was a persistent POI, it has vanished).

Reposting here just in case. Seen one with two corridors. Recorded sound of the private data cache with debug camera.

Yes me too, too close it gets non understandable... From some distance i heard the words "black horse" and "1-2-1-2". But it could be just myself hearing wrong words (not native english speaker).

No, I confirm that... I can hear something like: "this is ... please ... before ... " unfortunately, my joystick is a bit broken and I can put the ship still, it always drifts at 2ms

Do these appear at specific locations/systems or randomly scattered throughout populated space?

Planning to check this out tomorrow, would like to know where to start :)

apparently any random system, I found them from Sol to Maia, but most of them (if not all) in deep space (not close to any body). some people are finding them in the rift area as well, so.. guess it is everywhere.

Go to your option and then control menu. You can move your deadzone a bit and should help your drifting.

done that, but just as a temporary solution, I have to put it 50% and then the right thruster gets screwed heje

I didn't think to look closer at the wreckage for markings, but here's one you've not included yet:

"EXCEPTIONAL SCRAMBLED EMISSION DATA"
"This data needs to get to the right people.
[Scrambled Emission Data]
"Track solutions in place and included in the attached data"
