300CR fine forgetting to ask to land, now I am stuck, because I NEED FUEL. I can't pay the fine

Hello Commanders!

If you only have a fine issued against you by a faction, you should be able to visit the security contact at starport's in that faction's jurisdiction and pay it off.

If the security contact is unavailable, please submit a bug.

If you have a bounty issued against you by the faction, you will need to use Interstellar Factors and make sure your Notoriety is 0.

Be careful while travelling around the repaired stations - contacts are disabled there! Get fined and you will have to go elsewhere to use the available services.

Also in this situation with a 3rd of a tank of fuel in an asp, I strongly suspect OP can get to another system/station.

How does one forget to ask for permission to land your lucky the station don't annihilate you.

It's called The Cosby Maneuver and it happens - distracted piloting, texting-while-flying, being shot at by pirates, Flying-While-Intoxicated, selecting a nearby ship instead of the station and not realizing you can't request docking permission from a ship - you name it, there's a hundred ways it can happen.

Probably it's locked out *because* you didn't have permission rather than the fine
Exit and request docking....I'd hope they wouldn't refuse for a tiny fine and you'll have full access when you dock ( with permission)

How would you even land if you didn't have clearance? Can you land on just any pad if you ignore the pad loitering warning?

Edit: But yeah, this seems like a job for the fuel rats. Call them out, get refueled, and then go find somewhere you can land and deal with the fine. This does seem like a huge pain in the , though.

Just a recap:

1. OP had a FINE. He/she provided 2 screenshots, both of them clearly state it's a fine not a bounty.
2. Some starports do not have a security contact. This is true for damaged stations, engineer bases and maybe some other situations as well?

I believe this was resolved for engineer bases somehow but apparently there are still issues in live.

If no security contact then no fines issued, they should be paired. Same infrastructure and employees. Speeding ticket issued, podunk town courthouse to pay/collect fine- too simple.
This ticketing run around makes smile, then bark!
I don’t think that’s intended effect but...

OP committed a crime and now is being punished. Am missing something here? Working as intend. Even if you don't want to face the reality of the situation....you should have requested to dock before entering the station, that's the rules of the game. Welcome to C&P 3.0. If you can't get gud, you probably should get out. o6

Sandy, why do you get an increase in notoriety for a minor crime bounty, wasn't is supposed to only be for murder?

After accidentally shooting a wanted NPC before the scan finished in a RES, I have a 800cr bounty fine and a notoriety of 1.. !?

My local station won't talk to me to pay off like before, so I now have to search for and travel 50ly to the nearest IF station and they still won't let me pay off a stupid 800cr bounty until my notoriety resets to 0 which will apparently take hours of sitting around in game!? How does this punishment fit the crime?

I think you need to make adjustments. [knocked out]

You absolutely should only receive an increase to Notoriety if you commit the crime of murder. Anything else would be a bug that you should submit a ticket for.

Raise a bug report. If the NPC you accidentally shot died before you left the instance you may have been hit with a murder bounty, which would be higher than 800cr, and would explain your notoriety increase. If you left the instance before it died your bounty would be correct & the notoriety should be unchanged so based on your description something isn't right.

Sandro has explained how the system is intended to work, but has also requested bug reports for any unusual behaviour.

Bug or not you still have to find an IF.

Do you realise that most of these incidents happen when defending miners from pirates in Res sites? In effect Bounty Hunters while doing the job system security should be doing are being punished for propping up the local economy. I'd also bet that pretty much all of these bounties are given on hits that hardly even dent a NPC shields.

Makes no sense.
