400 ARX per week max - How Come?

FDEV are going to give you something for free, that you don't have today, and people are complaining about it?
People are complaining about the quantity of game played required for a simple paint job. Saving 26-32 week for a ship kit?
You want to play raider NOW, not in half a year's time, no?
And that fancy paint job from last weekend (maybe not the last 9 months but hey, here is to hoping) you really want to wait 6 weeks for that? Which would push back that raider kit by said 6 weeks.

The big boys like me are concerned not with earning ARX, it's the hiding the true value of store purchases. Slippery slope and all that jazz. Now when I see something in the store I will have to refer to my spreadsheet to see how much it costs.

A slippery slope to what? 30p? :p And what is that about hiding the true value? You wrote that guide to exploration, people have reversed-engineered the equations for all ship loadouts but somehow Arx points are problematic for us? And why do you even need a spreadsheet? 5000AP is three quid. That puts one AP at 0.06c. So whatever the cost of the thingy is in AP, you multiply by 0.06 and you've got your real value in cents.

This is just looking for something to be upset about.

Its like getting a free bit of candy at the candy store as a kid, only to complain it will take half a year to get the full bag for free. With the exception we're grown men and could just buy the bag if we wanted to...

To be fair - this was mostly a fairly reasonable debate until you turned up 😝

This reasonable debate started with the question why FD put a limit on how much of the stuff they are trying to sell they are giving away. I think any pretense of reasonableness left right there and then. :p

"I like candy, but I only get one piece for free at the candy store. Does anyone know why they dont give out more free candy?"

All of the guides written did not involve everyone's wallet.
Not sure upset is the right word, it's the annoyance of needing to refer to a second resource to discover the price.
If you walked into a 'popular' supermarket and the shelves were priced in unicorn points or went to a petrol station to find a gallon cost 11,520 "vroom vroom" points, you would probably avoid right?

id not seen/heard the 30 hours quote, but considering a child spends ~30 hours a week in education (9-3:30 minus lunch and the two breaks ~5hours per day x 5 days = 25-30hours) one could consider 30 hours as excessive and encourage addiction. (7+ game IIRC)

the point about earning ARX is irrelevent, its a good thing you can earn it in game and a nice freebie, but..... when it encourages excessive playtime to get your quota, that can come with a world of health problems any responsible company should avoid.

i.e. a quicker route to gain 400 ARX, or a lower weekly limit, whatever it is. if people are spending 30 hours a week on a game thats kinda ethically and morally irresponsible IMO, perhaps its not 30 hours :)

thats my 2 cents.

And you think these kids are going to be playing 30h not to rank for that awesome Cutter but because they are after those sweet, sweet 25p? Kids walk around with E700 smart phones, you think they care about earning almost a whole pence per hour? I know this community is old, but it really isn't the 1830s anymore...

And then other people start talking about parliament, sanctions, addiction? lol.

I think it is 400 because without much planning they knew they were going to introduce a new system, so they fleshed out some details in a meeting, name etc, then told us.

Then they sat back and watched the reaction on the forum. They couldn’t believe what was happening. People said it was disgusting, illegal, the death of the game.

So they decided to give some away on a weekly basis, they went with 400 because when written it is Four Hundred. To shorten it you could write FH and that could also mean Facking Hell.

Pretty sure the 'earn it while you play' was there from the start when they introduced AP to us.

A cap makes sense when you consider they are giving things for free which they would of course prefer to sell.

Whether the cap is big enough or whether the rate of earning is high enough are separate topics.
