Its fine. That's enough to equip your new Python with D grade internals, 3 Class 3 Pulse Lasers and 2 Class 2 Multicannons. Youre asking if its enough for a decent build, YES!
I would save uo 75 to 80 mil to make sure you can equip, have enough for insurance and trading (if you want to go that route).
Don't put yourself in a position where you cannot make credits as fast as your previous ship or worse back into a Sidewinder because of impatience.
The python is worth an extra week or two wait (and you will be glad you waited when you see the cost of outfitting one).

You are close to a decent trading python... Fighting one is bit more pricy.
I was running low on power on my Python, so I looked at the price of an A7 Power Plant... 51 Million credits... nearly choked.
Personally, I wish I'd earnt a bit more $ in my Vulture before buying a Python.

As Long as you have enough for the insurrance you can go for it! Too bad you missed the discount which is when I bought mine... I had 65 Million at the time...
Crashed my Python twice since - which equals a loss of 7 milion on insurrance alone...
Crash No.1: on the dark site of a planet flew into an Asteroid while RES bounty hunting
Crash No.2: flew outside a Station, got a skype call from the wife... next thing I see is my python had drifted into some Station structure and got entangled leading to an Explosion...
So yeah make sure you got insurance Money and be careful with her

I have just spent 140 M Cr on a Python at Founders World and I still had to cut back on some modules.

Nope.90 mil is where it's at.
72 mil will get you something like this, with one rebuy. Of course some will say you can do it cheaper. Some will tell you only a full A grade build will do, but that is not what you asked.

It will work in RES. Has some stamina, but let's face it, it won't set the universe on fire. You'll be very conscious of those asteroids. Still, gradual upgrading is good fun, and there is a lot of scope for that in the python.
Final bit of advice....you will get to a point when you lust after A7 power. An evil voicw will whisper that you could sell your 110mil python, buy a t9 and then quickly grind out the extra. Been there, got the T-shirt, still scrubbing myself obsessively to rid myself of the taint. Say no to space cows......or not.

maybe ill save another 10 mill. I was thinking 2.5 mill insurance for the ship. and just what it would take to get started.
I am excited to get out of my asp. I have had from 9 mill to 60 mill.
but I do remember crashing it and having to down grade my components to keep the insurance in line
For a decent build, add another 40mil to that. A thrusters are a must.
I could trade and fight (PVE) with E, D and C thrusters too. I personally like to upgrade my ships step by step realizing it becomes better and better.
