I agree, my 53+weeks on the game clock, tells everyone how much I like this game.
I bought X4 when it was released.....funny that I'v not played it since Dec 12th, when the chapter 4 update went live.
Pity though that Frontier treat us like kids & won't let us know what's coming until the very last second!
20 months is going to be long ride. Pick an enduring white horse.

ED's been my favourite game over its lifespan. It's had the largest chunk of my playtime over that period. I'm not really playing at the moment, there's not much I want to do in the game anymore. I'll dip in and out over the next 18mths. When the 2020 thing launches it'll give as much gaming time as I can spare.
I'd also add the ED is my favourite Elite game by a significant margin.

20 months actually feel like nothing to me. Busy job in which it takes a year to train someone, i have a 1,5 year old daughter and next one on the way. Been working on my house for 3 years ... those 20 months will fly by like a grade 5 enhanced thruster adder.

I've played over 1000 hours in this game, it is time for a break anyway, I'll likely play sporadically after next week's CG to finish building the station and see what the future brings. It is a great game to have enjoyably engaged me for so long so no criticism from me.

Video games are entirely optional recreational activities. You can either gravitate to the ones you like and enjoy yourself or endlessly gripe about the ones you claim to dislike but just can't seem to move on from.
Choosing the second option misses the point of entertainment and is amusing and baffling in equal measure to people who are not really into being hugely negative all the time.

If people keep playing & buying it, that "10 year plan" would only be the start.
My point here is that (bugs aside) the game is quite fleshed out now. Enough to keep us going until they bring out The Next Big Thing. If Beyond hadn't happened, I'd be really annoyed right now, but it did.
So I'm happy to wait to see what they come up with. It's not like anything that is said on here makes a blind bit of difference to what they're planning anyway.
Same here, but with three little critters. 20 months will be gone in a blink. Plus I'll have soon a new trainee to bring up to speed. Takes three years till certification.

I'm a patient feller and waiting 18 months or so for the next era is no big deal. I would play the game daily if I had time.
