A Complete Overhaul

Well, let me put it this way, I like the fact there is punishment for certain things in game, but being menu yeeted from Sothis to the Pleiades was a bit harsh I feel, yes, I’m bad man, I hit ‘x’ by accident and cocked a grenade into an allied NPC’s face, though she did creep up on me.

I did it of course, I just don’t feel the 15 jumps to get back to where I was after paying my fine, was justified.

My suggestion, could there be a way to serve the punishment in system, depending on the level of fine/bounty?

Has any other Cmdr realised that what we need is not a fix but a Bally complete overhaul?
Well, maybe if you or some other CMDR bought FD outright or at least the ED assets, the game could be made to your or the CMDR's exacting standards.

There, problem solved, all you have to do is to gather your capital or crowd source the funds and off we go.

One problem, CR or ARX won't be accepted as a means of exchange.

What exacting standards?

I just have a tough idea that the game may need a far deeper fix than patches.

I still play and love it.

You're better off overhauling your game collection and trying other games. Seriously, I used to think that Elite was the only space game that could satisfy me, but I've since found out that there are other games out there that are in some ways better version of Elite than Elite is.

One thing is for certain, Frontier's version of Elite is what it is. Aside from some bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, there will be no overhaul. Like it or leave it. The good news is that enough ex-Elite players are fleeing to these other games that you'll feel right at home no matter what you end up playing :)

I do think FDEV should work on updating the engine first before anything else.
I was writing the same thing, but see that I got ninja'd. That would indeed be the first step, or switching to an entirely different engine if Cobra is beyond fixing. Then finally new features or fixes might break other stuff less frequently and less severely.
