A key for nav-assist ?

Instead opening nav-panel for supercruise-assist every time, can you add a key for it in bindings ?

Indeed. why they don't have it? The same reason you have to spend a slot putting this player convenience feature in.

They hate you.

They want the tedium to be part of the "gameplay". Excessive grind for engineering wasn't a mistake - its what they think playing the game is about. Mindless repetitive tedium.

That actually es me off most. I dislike docking in stations, so use the computer. I like docking on planets but as I have the computer, it always lands for me.

Supercruise assist and adv. docking computers shoudl be free. Frontier gave us free modules for colonisation and planetary approach, but these are their new pet toys so they want you to use them. Hence the free slot with the module in place that you cannot remove.

Seeing how much slower SCA is surely making it easier to use would be the way to add tedium.
A SCO FSD adds interest to long cruises.

You can switch planetary landing off in the right hand panel.

The SC Assist and DC got extra slots, they’re the class 1s at the bottom that everyone uses for scanners etc.

I don’t have any objections to a keybind but it’s something that’s been asked for longer than I’ve been on the forums, so I wouldn’t hold my breath…

This keybindings (super-cruise assist, docking permission request, etc) were banned intentionally. Otherwice you'll soon want a keybinding for "fly to station X and then dock at it". FDev keeps these monkey key pressing to pretend that you do fly. If you are tierd of this micro-management - play X4.

No, I don't want a keybinidng for "win". I want something to manage the player convenience for hte boring bits so I can enjoy the good bits without having to deal with the tedium.
There is no "monkey key pressing" for "get me to the fight" and then "get me to the station" - these are the gameplay. Flying between them is not, it is not some sort of meaningless grind to pretend the game is more than it is.

Already these features are available, you just have to scroll through the list and press space first. That's not removing these things, that's just making it annoying to perform, not stopping you doing it. I know many have the muscle-memory of docking already set: 1+e+e+d+space = "the monkey key button press".

So, no, don't give me any garbage that forced boring activity is somehow good and that FDev forces us to do it to make the game better. That is 100% false.

Feature "fly from A to B" is aleady present in the game - you can call for taxi at any planet or station.
Beyond keybindings, there also delays for docking request after super-cruise exit or after leaving a station before entering super-cruise. They exists solely for the same perpose - to not allow you to take a breake from your screen. There is simply no any other explanation why we exit super-cruise at 10km away and can request docking at 7.4 km distance only.
Flying between stations (withput ability to turn away fron the screen) is the meaningless grind. Maybe, first few weeks (or months) this can be interesting, but not after a year of gameplay.

I think the intention is to make writing a bot script harder.

possibly, but making things annoying whilst leaving the capability in place only encourages the bot scripts writers. Its not going to stop them, and now it means they are incentivised to make the bot navigate the menus to activate it, its suddenly a challenge! And if I can do it by clicking through menus and checking the screen text, the bot scripts certainly can.
