A question for Distant Worlds 2 explorers

As some are aware, some explorers in the Distant Worlds 2 expedition have been destroyed in an ongoing conflict between themselves and enforcers of galactic overlordship. But what is most astonishing about the entire situation is that I have, on multiple occasions, extended the olive branch, and offered a truce. I offered to have all of the ganking brought to an end. And out of 10,000+ expedition participants, not a single person has even entertained the possibility of peacetalks. Every single, "peace-loving explorer" has closed the door on peace entirely.

Now to my question: why are "peaceful explorers" so opposed to diplomatic peace talks?

As a DW2 participant who can't get into the FC PG and who wants CMDR interaction, I would like it if the organizers would at least try to engage in a bit of diplomacy.

You are the first explorer, ever, that has demonstrated the smallest inkling of a desire for peace in this conflict. I have a feeling that your name is going to appear in history books one day.

What conflict is that? I didn't know that the explorers had any conflict with anyone. I do know there are a bunch of xxxxxxx trying to kill them for no particular reason though.

Personally I do not talk peace to bullies as it just doesn't work.

See? This is why DW2 leadership needs to come out of hiding.
Protect the people you gathered! Protect your mission!

In any negotiations, both parties have to believe the other is acting in god faith.

That should answer nicely.

Just because one side uses aggressive force, does not mean that they are unreasonable or cannot come to a reliable agreement. Many political agreements in human history have been between parties that at one time used aggressive force towards the other.

How could I say this nicely....

I never implied that 'aggressive force' was an issue at all. I did however mention good faith.

I haven't experienced any gankings, so I don't see any need to bring whatever it is you think you are doing to an end.

Anything else we can help you with?

Over 1100 explorers have been ganked so far, as can be seen here: http://roaweb20161109100616.azurewebsites.net/Static/AllKills?from=2019-01-13&to=2099-01-14 (long load time).

My question for you is, do you only care about yourself, and if other people are dying by the hundreds, you see no problem with it? I'm trying to understand the explorer mentality here. Is it essentially ego-centric?

Because for the most part, aside from the few who might role play along with you, nobody much cares about your role playing game.

Well, personally I am concerned, with all the big names out in deep space, that the Bubble garden will be untended and overgrown with weed. :(
