A Year of Anarchy In Colonia

Something to consider is that there are no superpowers in Colonia, so you'd need to rank up with them beforehand. All fed ships but the Corvette, but only the iEagle from the Empire are available at the moment. That may hopefully change due to the ongoing efforts of the Reapers & Co.

No powerplay either, so get those special modules while you're in the Bubble if you want them.

Thanks for the heads up. Tho I have my rank up days past me, already got Cutter and Corvette... Oh, Powerplay modules you say...Powerplay modules have the same issues as engineers - I don't touch it. If I get generous I may transfer my big ships but highly unlikely due to exorbitant costs, me being cheap and overall slow building of my virtual welth. Not willing to spend half of my credits just to get one ship moved.

Thanks to the neutron highway and spansh.co.uk going back and forth to the Bubble is easier than ever. You could always buckyball out to Colonia in a high range DBX, work up a Phantom or MkII, then see how you like the scene. Taking a Cylon Taxi back to the Bubble is easy peasy. Do that and then bring out the big boys if you decide to make the move.

Being local to Colonia now I still want/need to pop back to the Bubble on occasion. I've got a two taxis and a Bubble ready ship scheme now.

Take the most expensive one. They are usually the most expensive to transfer. Besides, with a guardian jump booster, you can even make an FDL jump.

This. I did that twice. Once I knew I'm going to stay in Colonia I buckyballed my battle cow T-10 out there in 2 days. Neutrons are your friend. I just put a scoop, FSD booster, and AFMU and of I went. After some mining and picking up my Pacifiers I build 3 Cutters, 1 for the bubble, 1 trader/miner for Colonia, and a combat one. Did the same thing, buckyballed the most expensive one out in 2 days. Again a little over 30ly range and just 3 modules changed.

Guys and gals, you should leave that godforsaken backwater and come back home to San Tu already.

I was all packed up and ready to go for a 2 week bubblecation then the nebula bullies thought they have an easy target with us. Can't leave right now, the shipyard and what it stands for is to important.
I have my Jazod-FdL ready to be shipped out to San Tu. I also got invited to the Orca Gang a few days ago so I'm building one up to ship out too for some fun with the pod. Every boring trade run is an extra rebuy, and I need as many as I can get as in my practice sessions here the rocks are still the most dangerous enemy for me. In San Tu there are not only rocks but also the top 1% of fighter pilots in the Galaxy. Every extra rebuy is welcome right now.

I first heard of The Nameless through Phisto's threads regarding Operation Montgomery Scott and defending Carcosa and the unlocked ships against the attacking factions. I helped in both causes, I guess Phisto knows how to inspire people! Having being playing continuously since March '17, it was the first time I felt motivated for something. I actually fought for The Nameless twice, the latest time was I think in Earth Expeditionary Fleet(?) recently.
Although I returned to the Bubble to obtain pp modules, I keep coming back to Colonia to help with the engineers. I've developed a schedule of sorts, i.e. pledge with a power, gather raws, materials and data, travel to Colonia, grind the engineers, come back to the bubble before the 4 weeks. Rinse and repeat.

I'm actually in Tir at the moment, pushing Cannons to G4 (currently 85% G3). And Ian Doncaster just accepted my friend request! :)

If you all like engineering in Colonia this is the guy to thank. Absolute beast.

That's too kind! Ian and the other players have been painstakingly pushing the local engineers without leaving the region, which means without the "shortcuts" I use (no crystalline shards, no access to Imperial Shielding USSs, no bubble). These are the unsung heroes of the region. I see how fast I burn through materials and I admire the other players that have to spend a considerable amount of time to stock up with local resources.

...and if you require any G4 engineering for your cannons, they've just been made available;)

You're this guy now.

Well, it balances out - I only stick in a few hundred rolls a week, so a quick SRV drive and the bits that fall off pirates is enough to recover that. And at 5-10% on a single blueprint a week, we'd still be a few months of completing G1 if you hadn't come in.

For moving out to Colonia everything what was said already plus make sure to pin the right blueprints from the engineers. That means the ones you more likely to use and which are not at G5 in Colonia yet. Luckily I needed to get a ship from the bubble so forgetting to pin the G5 PA blueprint wasn't that bad (22k ly round trip).
Also fill up on engineering mats as much as you are willing to do. There are no Crystalline Shards or Imp/Fed systems to easily stock up again.
If you are building ships in the bubble, buy everything in LYR space, it helps not only in rebuy cost but also in transport fees.
And last drop of a bubble taxi at your starter system so you don't have to wait until it arrives if you take the sidewinder express back for tenting bubble business.

It might be worth setting up a taxi service before you go.

Have two high jump range ships that are cheap to transfer (like a DBX). Fly one out to Colonia, stash the other one at your original spawn point (LHS 3447 etc.). That way, when you Cylon Taxi back, you're ready to rock. Then you can just ship the Colonia ship back so it's ready next time you visit the Bubble.

Might want to stash a Bubble ready ship too if you don't want to fly a basic DBX around in Open. I keep a FDL tucked away. For sightseeing.

You guys have passively convinced me to come out from reading about your exploits and adventures for the past year. Phisto just sells it. I definatly need some spice in my Elite life.

Obviously reading, the preparation is no joke, full module storage and my fleet of 8 ships I cannot do without. Sounds like I'm going to have to engineer my 2x Class 4 Long range PA's before I head out, and pin up the Efficient G5 blueprint. Cull down module storage and melt all the ships I can rebuy there.

Corvette and Courier will have to be transferred. I will fly out in Cutter. Will rebuy Phantom, Krait Mk II, FDL, Python and Anaconda.

I heard 1.5 Bil for a Corvette transfer? Any estimates on what 120 modules would cost. I'm thinking I'm going to need like three billion to pull this off?
