About that double-engineered FSD reward for the CG...

I thought the only people that jumped using white dwarfs were the ones that wanted to get home via the rebuy but didn’t want to actually self destruct to do it.
They are actually quite comfortable to use, only those with jets ending very close to the exclusion zone are better left alone. Same rule applies to neutron stars.

Well, maybe just me ... I exploded phantom 3 times in dwarf in bubble being "normal". However, can't count exact how many times I was jumping by NS/DC on Anaconda being dead drunk, and it's ok in the morning. It's just stable in beam.

Maybe I'm late to the party, and certainly I missed this CG due to RL stuff.
But I'm absolutely, vehemently opposed to mechanical/gameplay advantages being available to only a select few. It doesn't matter who grinded for what, or whether luck comes into play, or whether you were in Colonia, Beagle Point or wherever. The point that many seem to be missing is that gameplay advantages should not be reserved for a select few who happen to be in the right place at the right time.
Sure, many are saying "DERP it's only 5 LYs, quit whinging" but where would they fall when the next CG offers a dual engineered Long Range/Efficient class 4 Plasma Accelerator only to those who can warp their Fleet Carriers to a system beyond Beagle Point?
Yes the example is extreme, but that's the point. Gameplay advantages should not be only available to those in the right place at the right time. Cosmetic skins sure, but not something, ANYTHING that can give a long term gameplay advantage over others.
Imagine if in future there's a huge monetary reward for Buckyballers, some sort of official race. And now there's no point in competing against the 5k or so players who all have significant advantage over every other ED player.

Don't take all my hard work away from me!!

Pretty much this....

Or if its going to be in the game...have it be a periodic and predictable event to earn it. I'd not have an issue if I knew I had another shot at it. I don't mind putting in the work, just need the opportunity.

I agree.

I agree. If you include stuff like this it should be repeated on a regular basis, added to the engineers a few weeks later (some time exclusivity would be ok), or introduced as a powerplay reward (not my preferred choice).

I'd really like to have that FSD but missed the CG due to rl.

Maybe this new GC where the module is available for purchase with materials thereafter is an indication of things to come? Hopefully. If done with all of these unique modules (especially the FSD) that would address our concerns I think.

I learned about this via youtube just now.
I'm effectively out-classed by other players now. This is not a good way of treating players. It's been like this from the start anyway, in other ways. Twitch drops had certain assets that no other players could get, just because they had principles that set them apart from others which had NOTHING to do with this game. That doesn't really matter if its a decal but it does matter if it's a ship being given only to people who did this or that in a certain time window... Others who were in Hospital, or going through a difficult time just missed out, like that. There is a business model being applied in this industry which is aimed at that very vulnerability and it is highly controversial and immoral.

It's about the principle of favouritism by manipulation - If a scientist has 10 rats in a maze and has fun making some of them lose out because they all had to fight for only 5 pieces of cheese, with an added factor being only some of them knew about it before the others, would you want to be one of those mice, knowing this?

I bet you wouldn't, so why should this behaviour be applied to this game? I don't find it fun or right to cause unnecessary stress, followed by alienation on players by dangling a piece of cheese over our heads and have us all fight over it, just for only a small percentage of us be rewarded for that behaviour. Totally wrong and immoral. I have to continue playing this game feeling bitter and cheated. Might not be a necessary cause to feel like that, but I wouldn't if not for the way Frontier acted.

We don't deserve to be treated like this and I know I'm not the only one here who feels like that. Frontier are getting no money from me as long as they carry on like this.

Yes and no.

The topic you replied here to is the wrong one. The size 5A double-engineered FSD is available, right now, at human tech brokers.

That said, for other modules, the FOMO is certainly real (I have two accounts so I can leave one far outside of the bubble), but with this FSD I can jump 4 Ly longer than you in one jump. That's... not a big deal.

Now it is annoying to miss out, but also, it's not immoral. This is just a game. FDev is not out to get you.

Now, the size 6/4/3 double-engineered FSDs.. we all want that on the tech brokers too. You should send feedback, though I would suggest dropping the long accusations of immorality and instead frame it as a polite request that includes how you feel. No victim complex, just something short like "Please put the double-engineered size 6/4/3 FSDs [or insert whatever module you want] on the tech brokers soon. I missed the community goal and I feel frustrated that I cannot get these modules." That's the best way to get what you want.

I'm effectively out-classed by other players now.

For every MMO I have ever played where I don't do RAID's I am effectively outclassed by all the other players who do, they get the best armour and weapons, this is not an uncommen mechanic as you seem to think, this is how games work, you don't do the content you don't get the reward.

I'm strongly in favour of putting all past CG modules up at tech brokers eventually. It was nice getting them first, but by no means do I want them to be exclusively mine forever. There's enough inequality in RL, I don't need to have that in games.

Add the Cobra MK4 too while they're at it. (y)

Didn't want to bring it into here, it has enough own threads, but yep, same thing. Gameplay assets withheld from a majority permanently = bad.

The Cobra Mk4 is an entirely different issue, that's why it has it's own thread, it was never available for winning or earning in the game!
