About that double-engineered FSD reward for the CG...

Might be earlier, especially that the CG ended sooner, but it's not tied to weekly server maintaince.
You should receive an ingame email when it's ready.
Perhaps they need time for the Spirit of Nysa to jump to Beagle Point before the new FSDs appear in storage. ;)

I had a quick go yesterday evening, but could see that I wouldn't have time to deliver the 10K or so that appeared to be needed to end in the top 25%. Had fun delivering 3K and then called it a night.

I'm curious to see what the stats are of the special drive when it's added. If @Northpin is right and it's no longer ranged than any other engineered FSD then at least I won't need to ban stuff from the A* Challenge, but I'll feel sorry for those who gave up a weekend to get into the top 25%.
 
Missed out on the trader goal by about 1000 commodities,

Then missed out on the AX one by literally 1 minute - handed in a bounty that put me from 34 mil to 40 mil about 1 minute after it closed..........f

I don't get a lot of free time to play games as I am a parent of 2, but now I feel like I have wasted my time trying to achieve top 25%.

This CG really was not casual player friendly, which was one of the things I really admire about ED.

I am now left with a real foul taste with how this has been done.

Feeling disappointed.
 
@Gremlyn it sounds to me like with limited time, you'd have been better concentrating on one CG, rather than two, as from what you've said, you'd have easily made it, if you hadn't split your effort. Right at the start, I made the call to only go for it on one of my accounts, I'm certain I'd have failed if I'd have split my time over two accounts / CGs.
 
Would love to had this FSD. Done about dozen solo kills and was doing ok, in Top50%, but CG finished way to soon and only Top 25% awarded. Seems it speed up soon as Hauling CG finished, guess all those space truckers started bug hunting.
Hope they bring Module back again :(

I was focusing on the trader half, then it ended much sooner then I had expected...then switch to try and do the AX one but didn't have enough time.....just kept on finding scouts in the NHUSS and not enough interceptors.

Sorry it didn't work out for you then, from the sound of it, if it had gone on longer, you'd have probably gotten my spot in the rankings, as I couldn't have spent much more time on it.

Not at all, the last CG I took part in was the rescue Jacques CG by delivering stuff from the bubble to Colonia. I though this is a nice CG, you get to explore, deliver a ship load of stuff to help poor old Jacques and get a small reward for turning in your goods. So there I was 1 day out from the station with a couple of days left in the CG, I was tired so hit the sack intending to finish in the morning, sat down at the PC and they ended it early during the night so I missed out on any reward and had to sell my goods at a loss, well I would have, but I dumped it all in the station, let them sort out the mess!

That was the last CG I took part in.
 
I had parked my ship at Spirit of Nysa on Friday to take part in the CG during this week (i was away on the weekend), logged in "early" last night to battle some goids, only to find that there were about 5 minutes left of the CG. Guess the pandemic is allowing people more time in game. Good for them, but still a pity; I would have liked to have such an FSD.
 
Cg is not as intended. Seems to be a goldrush but really it's a way of making lots of players give up huge amounts of time to get modules that can't otherwise be got.
I've yet to do one. No reason why from my personal standpoint only that I can't be arsed.
I've alot to do and not much time.
Is elite demanding timecentric gameplay ? Sorry I'm casual. I've a life. Work family even my dog comes first.
I'll not get sucked into it. And I wish all those that do every success.

The total number of contributors were relatively low, but people have been pushing very very hard in this one, me included. I've spent 5 evening hours on thursday loading my Carrier with 24200t, roughly 7 hours on friday evening unloading, due to a less than optimal parking slot, then quickly threw a shard Conda together with lots of guardian modules and the rest engineered anywhere between G3 and G5 and went hunting for a good 5-7 hours saturday and sunday each. Top 10% in trade, top 25% in AX, now waiting 5 days to see if it was worth the effort. It certainly was fun. I hadn't logged in for months now.

Compared to the last one, especially the Fed side, yes. There were probably a couple of reasons, two big ones being type (trade/AX instead of combat) and location.

But I think there was also the fact that some people saw that they wouldn't have the chance to reach the top 25% so they decided to not bother with it at all. Probably worsened by the perceived unfairness of FCs.

^^^ pretty much this. FCs seem to be mandatory if you wish to compete in CGs now. As I have basically zero use for one other wise, it's extremely irritating FDev is pushing it on me.
 
The sad thing is that 11,000 tons in 3 days is possible without any carrier interaction and if more people had joined in the threshold for top 25% would have been lower. Of course it might also have ended even earlier.

Possible yes, but still a massive time-sink for people with irl commitments. Just going with some quick estimates (300ly distance, 25ly average range, 500t cargo) you're still looking at something like 500-600 jumps. Add in finding systems with what you need and getting it, you're looking at 3-4h per day. That's a rather tall ask if you don't have a lot of free time.
 
That's why it can be justified only with FOMO. Definitely not a CG and type of exclusive rewards I hope we see in future.

I don't mind the double-engineered modules, they are actually a good reward for once. But locking it at Top 25% for a CG which blatantly favors FC owners due to extreme distance trading is too much. Top 75%... eh, that'd probably be ok.
