* Updated Clarification
To be eligible for the incremental Titan rewards you will need to do the following:
1) Have done damage to the heat core of a Titan within one week prior to it going into meltdown.
2) You need to have earned a minimum of 2M credits from hitting the core (You earn less credits from the Titan when they still need weakening and have a high damage resistance)
.
So, there is a real problem with this statement if we are to take it as it is. If you contributed to killing a heart the week previously, I.E. you helped kill one of the 8 hearts with 2mil bonds, the week previous to the 8th heart kill week, triggering a melt down state, per their words, your damage means nothing rewards wise. (other than the immediate arx rewards for heart death as previously stated to be a live to account reward)
.
In this example scenario, heart 1 of 8 died the week previously, and the other 7 hearts died the following week. Adjust the number of dead hearts before core death week and it just gets worse.
.
It could also be read that you have to have put in 2 mil of bonds, AND you have to have done ANY damage within the kill week for it to count. Or worse, you have to do 2mil of bonds the week of 8 of 8 hearts killed.
.
In this scenario, the week prior to the core kill week, you put in 2 mil of bonds, but, the week of the 8th heart kill week, you did no damage, and as a result, did not receive titan death rewards. Be that stickers, ship kits, etc.
.
I'm sure it is not the intent to cause people to only kill the titan in concert, or not at all. If it means what it says, it's encouraging the majority of casual players, to wait for the last couple cores before doing anything.
.
This is problematic for obvious reasons, but a large one being dragging out the death of titans until the majority of the player base (who never dealt with the goids to begin with) loose interest in the event entirely, also extending the death of them. (possible road map timeline delays)
.
Mechan estimates these things to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 90,000 cores per heat source. Why should the contribution of damage to the final cores, of the final heart, net more rewards than the contribution to the first? It's the same fight, and the same goal. The fact that the later cores may be easier to damage, reinforces the need for equal rewards at 2mil bonds, as it was harder to get those bonds on heart 1 vs heart 8. (for anyone lost in that statement, you get less credits per fight when the resistance of the titan is higher, i.e. heart 1, making more fights [in tern more difficulty] required to achieve 2mil in bonds) p.s. I understand resitance is a mechanic of systems controlled by goids, but generally, we can expect lower control as the titan attack progresses, as other cmdrs are still actively battling for control of surrounding systems.
.
I would of course say top 10%ers rewards excluded in the conversation of weighting effort, as we all know they were there for the long haul, and their dedication isn't of controversy. Speaking of which, I have also not seen a leaderboard anywhere. (yes I googled it, not I haven't checked some obscure nerd website made just to do that) CMDRs achievements should be on display like every other CG for everyone to see, and some to compete with, without doing so blindly. If it's mersion breaking or whatever, just say the pilot's fed is tracking bonds, put it in one of their articles daily or something.
.
I know it's the community's way to say "ohh, all you got to do is search the forum for this or that" or "this is what they said, it's real easy", but in this case, it's silly we can't just read about all of it in one place, instead of going through two pages in game, the launcher, or elite's website, AND posts on X, AND the official forum. It's ridiculous.
.
There are multiple rewards, with multiple dependencies, the rewards are still not clearly defined (which ship kits?, for which ships?, how many ship kits tottal?) and it could all be panned out with one chart or spreadsheet, in one place, with one post, on the official news, of elite.
