I have closed the poll and reset the votes, but cannot delete it without deleting the whole thread.
I can either
a) add any new drabbles to the existing thread and restart the poll tonight
b) delete the thread and someone will have to do all the hard work of recreating it (I have a suggestion as to who that should be....)
Let me know which option is the least embarrassing
I think Kow said he'd put it up this week. If not, I can get it up still.
We're are way past any face saving here <sigh>
The easiest option would be to delete the thread and I'll start a new one tonight, for my sins. At least this bad publicity might pull in a few more contestants.

Smirk, smirky Smirk smirk. Imagine messing up the poll. What an amateur!
It's hard to find good help these days.
Maybe for Christmas we can get someone to program an app for Frank's phone (assuming he's not still on rotary dial) that chimes at noon every Thursday reminding him that the poll needs to come up that evening. And every other day of the week, it'll chime at 5pm and tell him it NOT a Drabble Poll day.
The chime would have to play Kow's ice cream van jingle or it could get confusing. I of course being the consummate professional wouldn't never not need any assistance not to not mess up the poll thread

Back in the old days we had women's voices asking who ya wanted to call. They put you through okay but you always had a sneaking suspicion they wuz listening in. Then we had.. "technology". You did the work of connecting the call yourself to make sure it was private.

People say that we should never forget. The chance would be a fine thing.
The nightmares are the worst, but even awake the wrong sound can send me back there.
At least my friends are now at peace.

This the start of week 127 (are you sure, Frank? I thought we were further along) of the Drabble Contest. The challenge we are setting you is to write a story in exactly 100 words. Not a word more. Not a word less.
The story should be set in the Elite Universe and the exact number of 100 words does not include the title. On Sunday the winner shall have the honor (I fixed your spelling, Frank) of choosing the next topic.
A good place to compose your story is recommended by me, http://www.wordcounter.net/
Entries to a poll will be limited to the first 20 Drabbles submitted, and the poll might go up earlier than Thursday night if all those slots are filled but don't let that stop you from showing us what you would have entered in the contest. Friday night the live readings occur http://twitch.tv/psykokow so don't miss it, all drabbles are read out... 7pm UK Time (whatever that may be since Kow never starts on time anyway).
Please bear in mind that this is a family forum, read by little people with impressionable minds and old folks who are easily shocked. We want as many people as possible to feel comfortable on this thread. Don't write anything that you wouldn't want to read out in front of your family. It may appear a little hypocritical of me to ask you to watch your language. I myself sometimes find it difficult to know what is and isn't acceptable. The rule of thumb I use is that if think my words are shocking enough to cause faux outrage by a hypocritical tabloid newspaper, then I don't post it.

Congrats, Erik, a deserving (but dangerously close) win for an excellent drabble. Also a nice choice of topic which should supply us with a wide panorama of stories - probably including one or two mentioning disabled hygiene systems
Interesting how spellings change from one side of the Atlantic to the other. I can almost accept the dropping of the 'u' - words can be written quicker, less paper (or bits) gets used, etc., etc. But dropping the 's' from Thorsday is going just a bit too far!
