Aah the fuzzy warmth of 2 votes.. Erik you'll have to send me a link to Mike's album So I can relive a great night..Didn't realise the sneaky ip5w1ch supporter had caught me on camera..
Have you ever had more than two votes? That would be understandable, if the quality of your Drabble this week is anything to go by... Of course, compared to some of, say, Frank's puns...
edit: mine's still the best. Frank's pun is absolutely pathetic. And nobody will vote for Simoof with a topic like that.

Choose Strife. Choose a hobnob. Choose it here. Choose a parody.
Choose flying machines, SRV's, and data scanners.
Choose good armour, low weight, and rebuy insurance.
Choose fixed weapons over gimballed. Choose a starter system. Choose your wing-mates.
Choose spirit-crushing HazRes sites, stuffing Truckers into enemy fire.
Choose to end of it all, being crap at combat, nothing more than an embarrassment.

Choose your future.

... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose somethin' else. I chose solo mode.
And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got a simple plan?

Flying in the face of danger

As the Vipers headed straight at them, Felixbast opened communications to his wingman.
“We need a simple plan. Max the shields. Stay close together and plough full speed through them. Once clear, we boost out of firing range and jump to hyperspace before they can turn.”
He looked to the hired mercenary in the Cobra, next to his. The helmeted figure silently nodded agreement.
“Now”
Pushing the throttle to max, Felixbast’s ship roared forward, his shields flaring as laser fire rained down.
The mercenary spun his ship 180 degrees, boosted and disappearing into the blackness said, “My plan is simpler”.

Not meaning to be insulting, but the average quality seems rather low this week... With the noticeable exception of my own Drabble. :D
Edit: Actually FelixBlast's is pretty good. So it looks like this week NOOBS RULE!

Such kind words from the author of the (self proclaimed) best drabble. I am truly humbled.

The sign on the large grey imposing building read "MegaCorps Incorporated". Below that was their motto "we will crush your soul". It was going to be a scary job interview.

The bloke who showed Sheila the office afterwards was Gary. He was friendly enough, "Don't tell anyone but we all play 'Excellence: Desperate' on the computers during lunch breaks."

"Aren't you worried your supervisors will find out?"

"Nah! Nothing shows up on the logs. We route the game through a network made from our watches"

"That must've been difficult to set up"

Gary smiled. "Nah! It was a simple LAN"

OUCH!!!! You rogue, Sir.

Read them and weep

OUCH!!!! You rogue, Sir.

I know I should feel a slight tinge of remorse for inflicting such a bad pun on the unsuspecting public, but I don't feel sorry at all. I enjoy the suffering all my puns cause. I laugh at the groans.

Worryingly very worryingly I have on occasion won the competition over the years since I started it..but that can be put down to aggressive moderating and bribery of the basest nature.

Ahh found the evidence from the 1st 100 drabbles.

[h=3]The Abrakadrabble big 100 Competition thread [/h]
1. Frank - 15 wins
2. Darren Grey - 12 wins
3. Cathy - 11 wins
4. T.j - 6 wins
5. Erik Marcaigh - 5 wins
6. Insanephoton - 5 wins
7. Psykokow - 5 wins
8. Ian Philips - 4 wins
9. The Lone Gunman - 4 wins

Worked for me for the last 3 years....

Critical appreciation of submitted Drabbles:
1-Ancient Judo-a matter of conscience: I never know how good my Drabbles are until Psykokow reads them but, hoping for more votes, I'll say that this one is really awesome.
02-JabbatheMug- The Gordian job: a good idea, but perhaps too poorly executed to win, despite several unsuspected turns.
03-TJ- A simple plan for a simple man: God take pity on us.
04-moose666- the meta plan: An excellent idea with some details of quality that are lacking.
05-Frank-of mouse and keyboard; Pathetic. Just pathetic. You're trying too hard.
06-Simoof: Does he do it on purpose? Let's kill him.
07-Alien: Like Frank's and Simoof's, is rather disappointing.
08-FelixBast: Pretty good, the untrained hand is triumphant once again. (Read: Beginner's Luck)

Damn when did this get so competitive?

I thought it was just an excuse to make Grant lose his mind as soon as possible..

(I suspect this may have already happened though....)

Likely story

"Tell another Gramps!" the cadets cheered.

"Well..." the sergeant smiled wryly, "that wasn't the end of the old miner."

"He lived!?"

"Yep, quite surprising really after getting double crossed on his mission and his entire mining crew drugged, but tough as old mag-boots that one was. Like many frontier miners he lived with a permanently Janx infused bloodstream and that's what annulled the poison. Turned it into nothing more than a weak simulant, which is when Frank learned Janx's secret.

You might recognise the cure-all sold under the Sim-Pill plan by its slogan, 'Not right? Get Janxxed, the miners' delight'".

Pretty good. Is there a pun that I'm missing?
