Hmmm, warm welcome - sounds like a good title for a Drabble!
But seriously - thanks for the warm welcome folks, and for the kind words.
I love reading these Drabbles and can't wait to contribute more, myself. I'm excited about the poll tomorrow - I have a few favourites that I want to see do well and if they are in the poll they will get my votes. I also have an earlier post (on topic) that I hope gets in and does well (Stick-up)

I've managed some rhyming couplets on the general Frank , Cathy, Psykokow theme, but putting it all together in drabble form including a horrible death, sewage and keeping it in the theme plus clearly in the Elite universe is not easy.
Maybe something to try on the next one
Serendipity...
Darcy approached the stricken freighter on half impulse power. Sensors showed the behemoth was leaking anti-matter from its port engine. The life support module was completely exposed to hard vacuum. A huge tear in the armour was bleeding bosons, testament to a massive proton beam hit.
Surely there were no survivors.
“Darcy to Drakkar freighter. Is anyone… alive?” No response
“Drakkar freighter – do you copy?”
A burst of static was followed by a weak but legible transmission – “Drakkar…. to Darcy… … I hear you”
“Thank the Gods” breathed Darcy as he charged his proton canon. “Jettison your cargo – or Die!”

Wrong Space – Wrong Time
“We are the BORG!” then a faint chuckle
“You will be Assimilated” then faintly “Did you hear me – I said Ass”
Thargoids, sigh.
“Sidewinder to… BORG vessel. Go ahead, assimilate me, over”
“Thar… I mean, BORG to Sidewinder, Er. What?”
“Sidewinder to BORG, you don’t know what assimilate means – do you?”
“BORG to Sidewinder, neither do you”
“Sidewinder to BORG, yes I do, in fact I have an assimilator unit right here”
“Beam over the assimilator now – or Die!”
“Sidewinder to BORG, OK, drop your shields, transporting now”
3-2-1 Boom
Thargoids, gotta love em.
Portable micro-torpedo, gets em every time.

Cmdr Kratz did not evidently appreciate the sophistication of the latest SMART weapon systems. From audio recording's forwarded to me from Zaonce Aerospace security corp, the late commander initiated the disaster after Referring to the sentient class ASM in unflattering terms after its launch resulting in the aforementioned device nominating Cmdr Kratz's vessel as it's primary target. The vessel was vaporised in the incident and no escape pod has been recovered. Cmdr Kratz's next of kin have been informed and protocols initiated.

Charbroiled Lave
Here's a tale, I'll keep it brief
About a chap, I'll call him Keef!
Keef, from a gentle planet came,
dear old Lave is the planet's name.
Near Lave is a mahoosive Sun,
You'll know by now every planet has one!
This sun you see is rather old,
But Lave itself is rather cold.
Our hero Keef, remember him?
Kept telling all was grim.
The Sun went Nova and cooked all Lave.
The citizens screamed and yelled as one,
It's way too hot; who turned up the sun?
With a cry our hero yipped
'T'was the Sun wot dun it'!
Here's a tale, I'll keep it brief

lol although it didn't rhythm at the end(not that it has to) the little ditty made me laugh, i liked it

said the big man as he pulled the respirator off his face and breathed the fetid air.
