You're such a conformist! Is there no room for postmodernism in the drabble thread? :D
I listened to it... Three people in the audience coughed! Really spoiled it for me.

I checked carefully but I keep coming up with the same answer. You're short by a few words. I count zero words.
I checked as well. Not only were there zero words, which is bad enough, but there were zero spaces! I mean, at least put in 100 spaces where the words aren't!

I thought of that, but the forum software is clever, it deletes things like too many spaces, unnecessary lines etc.

Badly Constructed...

Psykokow picked at a nut, he wasn't sure what exactly it held on but he had been screwing ever since he noticed it,
'screw goes in screw goes out' he sang in his head.
'Will you stop fidgeting with ya nuts' said Simoof I'm trying to fly to Hutton Orbital...
'Then you need to turn around' Psykokow jestured towards the rear of the asp
'and anyway its suprisingly relaxing spinning this nut' Psykokow gave his nut a flick, it began to spin wildy
there was a woosh as the canopy flew off and sucked pilot and co-pilot into space
Silence.....

IF it is accepted as a drabble, and I don't mind if it's not accepted as a drabble.

I would imagine normal Drabble rules apply. The entry will be accepted even if it's one or two words short, but the real Drabble sticklers will refuse to vote for it.

If Alien truly wants to enter zero words for her drabble then I say let it ride. Just be aware that the drabble show is going to try and interrupt this one...

I don't get votes anyway when I DO write a drabble ... so no change there then.

Yeah, disresputable lot that are on teamspeak for that drabble show each Friday evening ... especially that Alien person ... reading drabbles out as a Dalek, I dunno :p

Rebuilding Better, Faster, Stronger

Garant took his place in booth 2B as instructed, ordered a drink and waited.

A voice spoke from the next booth.

“You want some-one killed Mister Garant?”

“Yes, yes I do” Garant nervously confirmed, forcing himself not to look.

“Do you want it done quietly or loudly, you know, to send a message?” the voice asked.

“Not loudly. Oh my no. Quietly. Indeed, silently, if possible.”

“I have just the person” the voice said, fingers snapping.

A man who'd been talking nearby to an ex-astronaut about bionic implants approached.

“I'm Oscar”, he said.

“For silence, it’s Goldman” purred the voice.

I've had a very busy week and honestly was about to post this

[Oops I seem to have forgotten to finish my drabble this week. I have only a few minutes to finish it and post it and the battery in my phone is nearly dead. Wish me luck! ]

It is of course Wednesday at 9.26pm and not Thursday just minutes before Erik shuts the door in my face.

Technically, one would only need 99 spaces to accommodate 100 words.

But maybe that's just how we do it in America, which would be backwards... or at least on the wrong side of the road.

I'm not shutting the door in anyone's face.

I'll be busy streaming CQC Mayhem with 'Kow, Skiprat, and Mindwipe at poll-closing time.

You could always hyphenate them:

If you win, I want part credit

Silence bought.

An asteroid tumbled along, shadows sliding across it in symphony. They darken a deep crater where a Viper nestles, hidden, silent and cold.

Light follows the shadow, glinting briefly off of ice crystals and shining on a passing ship.

The viper floats free, following unnoticed in it's wake.

Minimal systems, running cold and flying free, scanning confirms the targets identity. Suddenly all systems leap into life and the viper surges forward, catching the other ship unawares. Lasers flash as heat builds into overload. Shields crash.

Evasive twisting doesn't help and a silent explosion lights the void.

"Your silence. My gold."

You're right. It's the old "fence posts and fence sections" calculation, and it works both forwards and backwards :D ... and on both sides of the road (helps prevent roadkill).
