Scientific breakthrough

The Diamondback slid into position, it's every movement calculated to the tenth decimal place by the best computer Credits could get, the human inside impotent to act. The ship laligned with the two alien artefacts, glinting light glared of the polished metal. Suddenly, the blue light was blocked out by out by a dark planet, and a beam of pure light connected the three shapes, blinding in the darkness. The light glowed brighter, space seemed to rip apart, surreal screams echoed in the night as the laser ran out of power and stopped firing, proving yet another theory completely erroneous.

The lab-coated scientists explained to the sullen miner "The drinks test was yesterday. Today's testing is for an arboreal planet. They think their condiments made from tree bark could become one of those commodities that attracts traders from throughout the galaxy."

Frank was led to the first of many plates on a trellis table. He took a forkful of food and winced, started choking, then coughed up the food. It was the same story with all the other plates until the last.

The scientists were shocked that they'd found an edible one, exclaiming "What? An unexpectorated tree salt?"

Your test looks normal sized now on Opera and Explorer, but small on Chrome. That's all the browsers I got.

When I put up the Drabbles on Thursday I'll just be pasting it over without any attributes anyway.

It is said that we are at the end of an age, the beginning of another; that many things will happen to show this, and that these things will be obvious to those who are ready to see them.
Frank, you have just shown this to be true. Your pun is so good it's, by definition bad - in fact so bad that it's not only good, but brilliant! This is indeed the dawning of a new age - a new level of pun! ROFLMAO! (whatever that means :D)

The scientist leapt up and down in pure glee. His superior rushed in, wondering what had happened.
“I found it! I found the problem with our equation!”
“What was it?”
“Frankly, it was quite simple. It turns out Tj had forgotten to take into account the Simoof Probability so now Edith just needs to run the tests on that Kow again and we'll have caught that Insane photon! Need a more detailed explanation, Mr. Mogadon?” The scientist said.
“No, that will be all for now, thanks Eric. Once you've got the results just send them to me in a Tindu.”

Drabble rules state that the most recent entry is the one entered in the poll, unless the Drabbler specifically states to the Host which drabble (s)he wishes to officially enter.

Also, you don't get any free opinions until it's time to cast votes! ;p LOL

I'm specifically stating otherwise. And I'm just saying if everyone thinks that the first one is crap and the second one is awesome I might change my mind before Thursday.

You may not realize that your 2nd drabble has stumbled upon a rather quiet Rule 5b, which states that including other drabblers names in your own drabble may increase their influence on voting for said drabble. Just don't forget to look up Rule 5c.

Obvious question: "What's a 'Tindu'?"

Possible answer (?): "Nothing, it just sits there looking like a tin." OR "It holds biscuits."

Possible answer #2: "It's a hairstyle for an Irishman whose hair isn't as thick as it used to be"
