Unexpected reply
Mr. Frank Mogadon was the owner of the second largest mining operation in Imperial Space. On the 21st of January, 3302, his assistant, Edith "Insanephoton" Marcaigh, woke him up early in the morning, much earlier than usual. "A message from your friend and colleague TJ, Mr. Mogadon."
"What's it about?" He asked.
"I don't know, he wouldn't say."
"Hand me the message" She handed him the dataslate.
"I didn't expect a reply so soon!" He thought to himself. He opened the message, the classic galnet holo playing then fading to reveal the title of the message. It read "Re: Salts".

"Well, when he saw that bribery wasn't working, he invented a new plan. It was a clever plan, even if the results were rather unexpected. He decided to write so many Drabbles that people would be so confused that they would just HAVE to vote for him! He put in some bad puns, one of which he even stole from someone else, and he put other Drabblers names in his Drabble, all because he wanted to win so much!"
"What happened? Did it work?"
"That's a story for another time." He winked.

Initial analysis is again positive with the introduction of the meta-material to the alloy, conduit performs within normal parameters." *click* "And off the record it has a awesome green glow." *click* "The material as with the other samples steadily incorporates itself into all aspects of the circuit producing round semi-organic pods around the periphery"

The child glanced down… the video podium label read "Last known recording from the Obsidian Orbital labs - Year 0 "The Thargoid War"

I don't even want to think about what I will do - if I do anything at all... and if I do I'll probably experiment with it for a while, modifying it as I go.

Welcome to another week of Abraka Drabble, the weekly drabble competition where we invite you all to submit your drabbles, what's a drabble you say?
Well a drabble is a short story of exactly 100 words (Excluding Title) and for the purpose of this competition it is set in the elite : Dangerous universe and to fit the theme picked by the previous weeks winner.
Last Weeks Winner was Splendour and he picked
"Experimental Modification"
as the theme for this week.
Now we do have some rules...
1. Drabbles must be 100 words exactly (Excluding the title)
2. Over-use of-hyphens-to keep your word-count at 100 is very amusing but frowned upon.
3. Keep it as clean as you can to suit the family forum rules here
4. Only the first 20 entries are guaranteed a place in the weekly poll
5. 1 entry each, you may write as many drabbles as you want, but it is assumed that your first drabble is your chosen entry unless otherwise advised.
6. If your drabble is under or over 100 words you will have a chance to correct it before the poll is erected, at this point, your drabble may be DQ'd if other drabbles are available to take its place.
7. Drabbles must be set in the Elite Dangerous universe (as loosely as you care to make it)
8. It should try to meet the theme in some arguable way.
9. If there is more than one theme you must match at least one, but can gain extra votes if you meet more.
10. It's all for a bit of fun, so enjoy yourself.
So submit your drabbles in reply to this thread, and the first 20 will be guaranteed entry into this weeks poll, and read out on our live Show Friday night.
Entries close at Random O'clock on Thursday evening (or sometimes if we have 20 entries earlier). All Drabbles submitted up to Friday Afternoon will have a good chance of being read out on the live Drabble readiing show.
