Actual Odyssey Engineer's content is a waste of opportunities

To be honest I have some good time with the game right now. Technical issues gonna be solve in future update and I haven't any doubt. But the things I can't be agree at all is what engineer can do with our weapons. Frontier are telling us that:

In 3307 only 5 persons in the entire galaxy can produce an extended magazine for a rifle. Any pieces you can buy now on internet to customize your own weapon are now, in 3307, forgotten forever and are the product of 5 heayly brain guy.

I mean they are so many things to dream about Sci fi weaponry but... Why did you do this so wrong?

Let's imagine some ideas :

TK Engineer could have:
_corrosive bullet/explosive/negativ charged and so on
_Increase fire rate
_increase stop POWER

Eklipse engineer could have:
Railgun midifier
Reflected shot
Shorter rate/higher damage
Frost shot that stop shield regen for a moments

Manticore engineer could have:
Less damage/more speed
Burst fire
Glued projectile
Energy draw for suit

And so on, and leave any gun customization like silencers/magazines/scopes/grips etc. for shop or anything else but not engineer. I mean, even my son's NERF have an extended magazine...
I'm not sorry, I really don't not enjoy this actual engineer's content. It is just a time comsuming behaviour instead of doing some stuff and enjoy.

Odyssey's handheld weapon & suite design is just lazy and a waste of opportunities, compared to the ship customisation. Yes that's true. I guess the game-designer thought like:
"Characters are like ships... but smaller. Weapons are modules and suit is hull! end of the discussion, see you in 3 months !"
The fact is,
Ships are controled by the character and weapon also.
Ships have modules, weapons should have to.
Ships modules have engineering, weapon have unremovable engineered customization.

I'm not demanding the game be dumbed down at all. You don't get the point at all. There is no difficulty at all with collecting objects for a week, selling them, redo again and again!
The only part I'm having trouble is to "alt-tab" to know what can be sold or trad. That's all.

If I have to compare to something, let's take your computer as an exemple:
_You want to tweak your PC with some overclocking. So you check on internet, figure out you have to tune some voltage, maybe adding a better cooling system, you have to do some benchmark, check for stabilty and then do the same for your graphic card. Then you heard about a guy who is good and can do it with ease. You call him to help you with it. He ask you a sandwich and a soda and here we go. Every things is done nice. Now you're happy. Then you decide to change your old keyboard...

If we're in Odyssey, you can't figure out how to unplug/plug this thing.

So you call the almighty guy to help you. Of course he still asking for a sandwich and a soda but now you've got a brend new keyboard and a smart way to not doing basic stuff.

what I'm asking is: "Let me plug my keyboard and let those engineers do overclockings"
what you're giving me is: "take my sandwich!"

why have modifications as engineering ?? we can literaly buy modules for our ships it should be the same with weapons and suits.. leave the engineering for gun tweeks like lower recoil faster reload shaving off parts for weight etc.

It does feel a bit odd.

I'd have the mods be credits purchasable, at the very least some low tier ones, with a chance of some medium tier mods for sale like how the medium tier suits and weapons appear now and then.

As you've highlighted, why are there only these mysterious Engineers who can affix a scope or an extended mag to my weapon? Or can sew on extra pouches to my backpack. It is quite frankly, dumb.

We should be able to modify our loadouts, including weapon and suit mods. Keep them all in a pool of "acquired mods" and let them be interchangeable. Customisability in ships allows this, these restrictions on weapons just feels like bad game design.

When it comes to the Engineers, they should be about upgrading the mods rather than installing them (permanently). Take them a low tier mod and they can tweak it to be better.

They should also have the ability to do some "after market" tuning to weapons, and these could be mods that are not widely available.

It really does feel like a grind for the sake of grinding.

Let players purchase simpler mods like a scope or a mag extender easily, and use the Engineers for advanced mods, upgrades, and experimentals.
