Actually What are the pros and cons of cobra engine by frontier

Or maybe they just won't instead of can't.
If it were up to me, I would change as much as possible from ZT2 - you don't want your franchise to be compared with a game 15 years ago all the time, created by a different (defunct) game studio.

Yeah, I don't think that's the case at all. Both games have the same purpose; the differences were never going to be in content or gameplay, but in design and realism.

I also don't think it's won't or can't - it's just haven't. Or, more accurately, can't yet. None of us can possibly know the limitations of the game engine without being involved in the development of the game, but what we can assume is that many of the features we want in the game would probably be in the game already if they were easy to include.

Well. OP never mentioned any feature - so it could be anything. :p
For example: I can imagine that they don't add the zoo keeper interaction or cleaning/feeding yourself. I think the game wants you to properly manage that.

That's why I said - if it were up to me. :D
Imo, not the best way to advertise your game if people constantly compare to other games.
(never seen this level of comparing in other game franchises)

Gameplay feels a lot different to me because I didn't like some features from ZT2 (mostly the zookeeper mode) and PZ's more focus on management.
And design difference is not that weird, even without shown footage you'll likely to expect a similar style as PC.

Such as waterfall in zt2..

And animal swimming

As stated, we don't actually know if it can't be implemented. We only know that it isn't currently in the game, and as far as underwater swimming goes, we know that Frontier has said on one occasion that it is difficult to add.

As for waterfalls, we do have waterfalls in Planet Zoo, they're just different.

Planet zoo waterfall is using the construction special effects feature .... And the one in zt2 is using cliff and water.. it have more natural feeling

Neither is natural. The PZ waterfall can feel as natural as the ZT2 one if you hide it in rocks or in terrain or through clever use of the glass barrier (there are tutorials on this on YouTube). Personally I prefer the PZ waterfall because you don't need to raise terrain and create a separate body of water above the one you want the water to fall into - it allows for far more realistic building opportunities.

Obviously tastes vary, but the fact of the matter is that neither of these games created a 'natural' waterfall because they're not real.

Why are it some thing that can be done in zoo tycoon 2 , but in planet zoo , they can't implement

As an avid player and massive fan of ZT2, I'm getting kinda tired of all these topics with "why was X in ZT2 and Y in PZ". The answer is simple. This is a different game, this is a different studio. They make different decisions and have different priorities. You can make a hundred topics or posts saying that it was different in ZT2, but at the end of the day you're going to have to get over the fact that this isn't ZT2 and it shouldn't be exactly like ZT2.

ZT2's engine is 16 years old by now, and although you might think it can do more than the Cobra engine, it can't. A lot of stuff in ZT2 is done using shortcuts and way arounds; and didn't have to face a bunch of challenges that modern engines have because things are more complicated. Besides, nothing is ever impossible when it comes to code, some stuff is just really hard and really expensive.

Chill mate /pal

I know Zoo tycoon 2 and planet zoo is a different game ...

I only want to know what zoo tycoon 2 can have , but planet zoo can't have ... In zt2 there is educator staff ..
I am not saying which one is better ...

He is just saying that everything is possible.

You just want everything right now - but Frontier has a different strategy: they want to provide things piece by piece.

It's not a matter of "if", it's "when".

Again, it's not "can't have". It's a different game and a different studio. They make different decisions and have different priorities. That is your answer right there.

So to me, all of these topics are just pointless, it's the same answer over and over again. 🤷‍♂️

Were you quite active on ZT2 Round Table back in the day? Your name looked awfully similar the first time I saw it here.

Hahaha yes, I'm the Iben from the ZT2 community 😅

i love your show and tell back then ... do you used to post in show and tell in zt2 community ..

i am zootycoon2isfun back then :)

Can't we just make a sticky post out of your comment and link to it every time this discussion comes up? Really, the whole ZT2 world knows you, maybe taht will help. -.- These topics are getting soooo annoying.

Also: Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this comment. I'm afraid I can't explain the "whys" anymore without loosing my temper. And I hope the devs of Planet Zoo won't make a drinking game out of the "but PZ2 has..." comments, because their livers might not survive this.

(Reminds me of a discussion about the colour of the sky next year.)

A mix of these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_blue

They make different decisions and have different priorities. That is your answer right there.

Agree with this one.
If some people don't like the decisions, the game engine or the focus on building - just don't buy the game and/or do some research before buying the game.
I didn't buy a lot of games because of this.
In short: Maybe those people should start playing ZT2 again.

And I hope the devs of Planet Zoo won't make a drinking game out of the "but PZ2 has..." comments, because their livers might not survive this
Frontier is UK-based, don't think that's a problem :p
