COMPLETED CG Aegis Appeal for Titan Tissue Samples

The Colonia sampling CG (the most recent one before this, almost 2.5 years ago) had 539 participants - less cost in terms of start-up equipment, and the NSP life being sampled didn't seem to object, but equally the size of the trip needed means that you couldn't meaningfully spend much under 8 hours on it if you wanted to participate at all, unless you were able to find a carrier to get a lift with.
So final numbers, 615 on the larger Aegis CG, plus presumably at least a few people who only did the Azimuth one ... somewhat up on the previous sampling CG despite the general decline in CG participation since then.

For a CG that's not just "haul this" or "shoot that", that's pretty good going!

I came into this CG knowing little about how to go about it and feeling very intimidated at the prospect of mining in a very hazardous location filled with danger. I spent the first day or so trying to do unlocks, getting to grips with Glaives (and destroying a dozen or so of them in the process), getting to know the lie of the Titan land, actually trying to get to know how to use the universal limpets (which I had never used before ever) and using a lot of trial and error to find an ideal ship setup that is not only effective for the task but fits my playing style by making the odd compromise here and there. I'd say it's been a very nice CG indeed.

And I only blew my ship up 4 times. 🙃

I enjoyed it too, but I'm not surpised by the lower than normal turnout - I mean it did have a pretty high bar to entry.

Also ... I've just finished putting together a complete walkthrough of Titan tissue sampling (including ship build plus Glaive and Griefer evasion techniques).

Bit late for the CG but hopefully some folks might find it entertaining and/or useful!

I just wanted to say, great work to all who contributed to the CG's this week!

The level of tech requirements, knowledge, and just sheer grit required. I dare say this is probably one of THE most complex CG's to date.
o7 to all, who participated.

Yeah, once you grinded the required stuff, found out how the mechanics work, it works quit well, but I will change a few stuff:

- Definitly using next time a medium Ship! Why? Simple! Ask yourself if you would do deep core / sub surface mining or using a abrasion blaster with a large ship like an anaconda, Cutter or corvette. I think 80% will say no. Reason is, it has to be nimble to dance around and stay close, but not too close at the titan, to scan.

- IMO Forget the weapons, besides TV Beams and build a fast nimple ship to escape quickly, when getting shot at and to break quick line of site.

Does anybody know, when we will get the skins?

I have Aegis Garrison already, for my FGS, Orthrus killer.

Just checked again, none of it yet there by me. But is fine, Im not in a hurry.
Did you make sure to "complete" the CG Mission at the turn in station? I often forget that step, and then spend several minutes wondering where my rewards are.

I got the Azimuth skins as soon as I turned in the mission after downtime. Didn't get enough deliveries to Aegis to get the skins, and once the fleet carriers started unloading on the final day I had to work not to get knocked out of the 75% on that side.

(I would preferred to have supported Aegis from a roleplay perspective, but I have near identical versions of these skins, and had no Eagle or FDL skins. Plus I was pretty sure Aegis was going to win anyway as there's at least one large player group supporting them now.)

Where are my new ship skins? Is the reason for the delay just laziness? Sure seems to me customers are the last on the list of priorities.

o7 Cmdrs,

Ive reached at both CGs 75%, but I didnt get paintjobs yet. I just checked right now. Should I maybe fly back and claim the CGs? Is there anybody else, who didnt get them yet? Just want to make sure, before I open a ticket.

Why would you expect to already have the rewards if you haven't turned in the mission to claim them?
Because in every prior CG I've ever participated in only the cash reward was actually tied into claiming it, all other rewards were manually added by FDev staff presumably running a manual SQL query in the days/weeks (and in the case of the FSD, months) after the CG completed regardless of whether the cash reward had been claimed or not.

This is the first time I've had to claim a CG for the paint jobs to show up (but this is arguably better then waiting for Frontier to do it, so not complaining).
