AFKs in stations.

This needs to be fixed big time. Having only 1 ship being able to dock at a station is not right. This seems to be happening very often now. People dock and go afk for hours locking up the entire station so others can't dock.

That makes no sense to me, why would the game reward people for hogging the servers while afk on facebook?

This should only be for outposts right ?

If this happens then go somewhere else or just drop to solo to bypass :)

If you could do this why would anyone trade in open mode?

I'm sure that if the game allows being AFK at outposts and hogging the only available spot, it's allowed because FD wants it allowed. Just like combat logging and time either passing (like mission deadlines when logged off), yet also not passing (like shields not recharging when logged off).

Great quality control FD. /s

Wait - we can do this? I think I'll leave my python docked at an outpost while I finish watching seasons 2 and 3 of Orange Is The New Black.

You're welcome,

Traders will stay and wait for a station/outpost to refresh their rares. That is if they are trading in rares. There are numerous reasons why someone might AFK. Who knows? Maybe they are going #2?? 8D

No worries, i guess i'll just trade in solo and enjoy nice safe trip without having to worry about any pirate cmdrs. Thanks for the tip i always thought solo was a different save data.

When trading I can easily be sat on the pad for 15 to 20 mins checking routes and prices as well as pencil and paper note taking.

This is part of the game and may well be nothing to do with AFK. The only time I go AFK is when my docking computer is doing its thing,

then I'm back with a fresh cuppa and set to start recording prices and planning my next journey.

I most certainly don't give a damn about your or others impatience.

If someone really needs to go AFK (as opposed to putter around the galaxy map plotting routes and so on) you'll be doing your fellow CMDRs a favor if you just log out after docking. You'll vanish from the instance allowing others access to the pad, and since you're docked you'll have zero risk when you log back into the game.

An in game solution might be to increase number of landing pads of "popular" outposts. An outpost that sees less than 10 ships a day should be smaller than one that sees 1000+ ships a day. An extra medium pad or two would be nice.

Yet another issue that can be easily solved by ripping off GTAV. If a ship is docked and the computer detects no user input within 10/15 minutes, the cmdr gets moved to solo.

I'll dock sometimes and spend 30 mins checking routes/waiting for rare spawns or just chilling out watching the view in virtual reality, I have every right to be there.

If I dock and then leave my computer for half an hour, I'm hogging a pad and should get kicked from the instance into my own private session.

or alternatively you can do yourself a favour and switch to solo and back again.

However I can understand its annoying, so perhaps you should just stay in solo.

Nothing I like better than to sit on a pad having txt chats with other commanders
