African Pack DLC Leaked. SPOILERS, BE WARNED

I could be wrong, but I think Leaf discovered some building set with the Rainforest Tag.

It seems though, based on the experience of other PZ file connoisseurs, those have been there since the SA Pack.

But who knows, only time will tell.

I love these choices. And, like many have said, it's too early to tell what this pack will have. Remember that Chante said it's gonna be the biggest year. Maybe they will release different DLC formats, and maybe this one will be a hybrid pack

I’m sure frontier was a little upset honestly. I’m sure they like to keep it a surprise and obviously frontier has always been fairly secretive in their plans. It is there right on the hand to share or disclose all future plans tho.

Honestly yeah they're all good animals and they don't seem like filler like the malayan tapir that is an exact clone lol. Wonder if the scenery will be worth the lack of animals though.

@Mjmannella I still believe will get a lot of those animals in the future. Frontier releases different animals for different packs for many reasons. A leopard could literally be in a pack of many different themes, regions, or type of animals in a category.

Hey Mjmannella, I totally respect your opinions on the species however I disagree on your thought about Frontier being tone-deaf. If you check the list of the most wanted species here on the forum, you will see that these species are among the ones being the most requested, meerkat and white rhino were on the top actually. I get it its just a small sample of players, but I think its pretty accurate sample. Ask any casual person and I am sure most of them would say that they want a meerkat in game.

As for your though on the small animals, many, many people also wished for smaller species, as you cannot build a realistic zoos without them. A Fennec fox is something completely new as opposed to for example your suggested leopard, which would frankly behave the same way as the jaguar we already have. Overall, I think Frontier finally listened to the most wanted species with these picks. We dont have a fox in game yet, but we have alot of cats. As for the penguin, most zoos would actually have these smaller, more tropical penguins not the big king penguins.

The white rhino, meerkat and Cape penguin are the most showcased animals in captivity in their respective animal groups. The number of white rhinos in captivity is actual double the number of black rhinos.

Not sure if the fennec fox is the most showcased fox species or not, but regardless it's highly, highly requested by the community.

I still feel the same as I did last night, I absolutely love all four animals they picked. I just think that for a 4 + 1 style pack, they should've picked another theme and made Africa a 7 + 1.

Still though, I can't complain, as I said I love all four animals and will probably use them all in every zoo from now on. And while I still think it's strange to have a North Africa theme and only 1-2 in game animals from North Africa, I do still love Moorish architecture (and Egyptian). Both Morocco and Egypt are on my bucket list, I'm hoping to visit both next summer!

Hey, yeah, that is something to consider. They could've added anything they wanted, because it's their product. But instead they specifically chose species that the fans wanted. Even if it's a standard DLC, I will take it as a win because it shows that Frontier is listening to some of the player's requests

Very well said. You can't please everybody, but I'm very sure these picks please the vast majority of players !

These animals have been requested a lot since day 1. I can totally understand why these are picked, and probably where picked a long time ago.

Fennec's just have this immense "cuteness" factor, because of how out of proportion those ears are . Definitely a great species to have in the game.

This. And people need to realize that there are very very few African Leopards in Zoos these days. In EAZA Zoos actually only TWO individuals. The Leopards people see in zoos all of the time are ASIAN species. Players who want to build a realistic zoo are dependend on species that are actually kept in a zoo on a regular basis and that means we need a penguin species for warmer climates that does not need an indoor habitat and we could still get a Leopard down the line. Just a species that is actually common in zoos.

The shouting for an african leopard is not as absurd as it was the shouting for penguin in the ARCTIC pack, but it totally reminds me of it.

Frontier still added proboscis monkeys, despite them only thriving in 1 zoo. And it's not like African leopards can't be housed, there's just rarer subspecies that zoos prioritize.

I know, That's why I will never think it was the best pick either. However, there was no other chance to include it, while we have other chances to include a Leopard.

Very true African leopards are very rare in zoo settings. I know Maryland had one but it passed away. A Javan leopard would be great for a rainforest dlc. There’s also the Persian,indochinese,and Amur that could still make it and be more realistic picks.

I mention African leopards because they're part of the Big 5 Game, as I discussed in my Reddit post.

I also hope for a Leopard species in the game. If African or not does not matter to me. With it we would have all big cats in the game and if they chose the African one the big 5 of Africa would be complete.
And of the big cats of the world the Leopard is my most favourite. So I really hope we get one.
I hope and I think this hope/wish is not hopeless that we will come back to Africa next year, perhaps with an savannah animal only pack. There are so many African species that they even could do 3 further dlcs but I really hope they will make one comeback at least.

Edit: With an 4+1 DLC this picks are very in line with the community wishes.
