The forum itself is becoming divisive and toxic at many levels

To be fair, this forum became toxic and divisive right back during the kickstarter, before then it was a hive of optimism and hope. It doesn't matter what forum, the more people you add to it, the toxicity increases exponentially. All whilst the clear headed quiet ones resort to not bothering to make their views public.

I'd rather call it "overwrite".

An expansion is supposed to expand on existing features, not replace them outright (planet tech, visuals - both bugged and by design) or directly affect them (performance, adding both regression and new bugs).

That's the impression Dr Kay gave. They wouldn't invest the time - and create the obvious problem of rebooting the galaxy, affecting known locations - for the fun of it. I happen the think the new planets are way more interesting though, sold as soon as I saw stratification in the rocks. And plainly Frontier aren't setting out to ruin anyone's day. They might have their own reasons for not wanting people to burn through FPS too quickly, might have more to come (and I'm sure they do) but optimisation is a problem, not trolling.

Completely agree. I much prefer the new tech when it's working properly. Luckily for me, I haven't seen any serious issues with it. Not that I am saying there aren't any issues (for those that take exception to my own experience in the game).

Same here. I'm exploring this year anyway & the salad hunting has fitted fairly neatly into what I was doing (once I had the Armetis suit). It's giving me an excuse to drive the SRV more, and to use smaller ships for easy landing in rough terrain.

I tried joining a friend on a base restore mission (supposedly one of the easier ones) but at 7fps couldn't do anything useful, and with the split tick (and split instancing) I'm glad I'm not working factions at the moment.

Frankly it hasn’t changed much since 2014. FD is still innovating in the field of space arcade simulations, and the game is still a bug-ridden half-baked mess. But that’s the state it’s been in since we got “BONNNNG” as the pinnacle of exploration tools.

But now someone invited in the FPS crowd, so we got a whole new level of whinging happening. Don’t let that get you down though. It’s still the same game, it’s just the forum evolving.

Where else can you explore 400,000,000,000 stars?

This game was about exploring space, not ing CoD.

Odyssey Combat Zones are pathetic. Folding Multicrew into the Wing system was a foolish move, you knew (or at least some of you did) better. The fleet carriers though, these things are the real culprit. They destroyed your most attractive gameplay loops. Piracy / PvP... And I KNOW that they're causing problems on the back-end too. Cut them. There's still time.

Remember. Try hard to REMEMBER. Why is Archon Delaine a character? THAT's what we wanted, and by we, I mean the people that actually play your ing game. Not these summer children that WILL be gone before the quarter is out. We want to be space pirates. Now even PvE piracy is broken. Ships jump out with a 0% FSD. Cargo exploding as soon as it's siphoned. Same ing problems for a year and a half now, and you have the audacity to release this heap.

Keep it up Frontier. Watch the Xbox sales. They won't be there, mark my words. You could have done anything, and you decided to do Star Citizen from Wish.com. Do you realize that SC sales are up (and up a lot) since this x-pac released? Those are former Elite players. The Code has disbanded. The AXI doesn't play in the new Xpac because the new shaders make it ing impossible to see threats. CTD can happen anywhere, at any time. We've got a dumb new stealth meta because of the ammo bug too. 100% uptime on premium munitions, including heatsinks. Good job Frontier. Well balanced.

You were the game! DAMN! THE. GAME. Elite looked incredible, and it would run on a potato. I have run this game on an i5 with the hd graphics 4000. Try THAT with Odyssey. On LOW I'm getting 13-15 frames at settlements. With a 2070.

In typical frontier fashion, you fix a few bugs (mostly the wrong ones), and introduced a whole new hive. Patch 5 broke some pretty fundamental things to squeak out a few more frames, all so I can cut open lockers slightly smoother? Raider kits on the anaconda prevent hardpoints from firing. Unlimited premium ammo every time you wake. Have your NPC crew take the ship while you fly a fighter, and you'll find yourself flying both. What a ing joke.

You don't have the RIGHT to make the suit grind this real. For the tolls you've already exacted on my time? I spent a good deal of my life learning how to be good at your game. I know things, trivia, stats, ect., that I doubt I'll ever forget, and god damn that makes me sad. Frustrated. Furious.

Closed Alpha, right to this. you guys.

P.S. I'm copping the privilege to say this after spending hundreds in USD on in-game customization and over a dozen copies of the game. I hope you listen to us old-timers. Drop this Agile™ framework rubbish too. It's not you, or at least it didn't used to be. I'm as fed up with you s as I'm sure you are with your community, but who's fault is that. Your thanks is out there hanging out with our apology. Probably in another dimension, or another production studio.
