Great thread. This very useful site is one I regularly refer to on the Newcomers forum:

Can't think of ship names for 2.3? Check out the Insane Ship Name Generator which just spat out "Trending Nonsacrilegious Killer"!

Also ... NEW BUCKYBALL RACE! But that's all over my signatures so probably no need to promote it any further.

Mat Recardo's are great especially the one starting from the Tesco's banana - other bananas are available ;).
On a related note but just adding here for future reference......:
A couple of images showing how big a few of these ships are if they happened to be parked in Wembley stadium:

Well I pop into dangerous discussion for the first time in months and find this gem of a thread, a great and pleasant surprise! Well done :)

Added ED Board as alternative source of engineer info seeing as Inara's is really out of date at the moment.

Edit: and added a really handy list of useless "grey items" that you don't need to hang on to.
