Added Jane Turner's excellent list of BGS guides to the "Manuals, guides and other stuff for new players" section (under the BGS heading).

I have split your OP into two posts, which might help a little with your editing. Please check that nothing got lost in the process :D

Interesting idea, thanks! So the "Trending" section which has a lot of edits is now in a separate post from the main list.

One thing, and I'd appreciate feedback from the community on this - I read the forum in "newest posts first" order so posts #1 and #2 basically look in the right order to me (with the banner and introduction appearing before the main content). But I'm guessing for a lot of people they now appear the wrong way around (i.e. you see post #1 with all the lists first and then the introduction to the thread). Is this weird?

P.S. Ian - it wasn't especially a problem for me having it all in one post, I was just concerned that it might start to become a problem for you guys.

When you highlighted the post Brett checked it out... and it is approaching a character limit for a single post as well as having significant wait times, so splitting it seemed the best thing to do to avoid problems.

Let me know how it works out. Maybe hiving off more of the first post to other posts would be even better?

Now that the thread content is rather large, I wonder if it would be a good idea to put each section in it's own post and have a contents/index in post#1 allowing people to jump straight to their desired section. Something like in this thread (doesn't need to be quite that fancy, simple hyperlinks are fine).

Not sure I'd want to go that far - apart from anything else my sections are somewhat arbitrary and I might decide to add or remove some in the future (which would be a pain if I had to keep bothering the moderators to insert/remove more posts).

I'm just gonna let this settle for a day or two and see what people think. Please post your comments here if you have any thoughts on the re-arrangement.

Arghhhhh!

There's a problem ... I can't get to post #1 on mobile! (I'm using a iPad, most recent posts first, Frontier theme).

Edit: and now I can ... weird.

Some of the Canonn megathreads had problems like that on mobile when mods created or split the first few posts.

Added my guide on getting to see the Thargoid machine obliterate Guardian tech to the "Science, mystery and lore" section. Stuck for something to do this weekend? Never seen the Guardian base activate? Why not give it a try!

Trending: new Buckyball Race starts Saturday 27th January + things every commander should do once (one of which, coincidentally, is "take part in a Buckyball Race". ;)

Added the "Dash / Home 2.0" thread to the VR section (gosh, that section is horribly out of date really - no mention of Pimax, etc).

Trending: January Sagittarius Eye magazine is out + livestream Bingo.

Edit: Ghost Giraffe (and everyone else) knows 5 things you don't! (maybe)
